P1 with Brand new Short motor from Subaru!
Just gauging interest interest on my mint Impreza P1;
The car is a Y reg 2001 and can only be described as a mint example. I was in the process of selling the car as I'm hoping to start a new job and need a more practical car when the big end bearings broke up. Rather than going for a dodgy second engine I'm putting a brand new Subaru Short block which will be covered by a 1 year unlimited mileage Subaru OE parts warranty! Plus 5 months tax and MOT until January.
The rebuild includes the following;
New short engine (new casing,pistons,crank,bearings,etc)
New head gaskets
New oil pump gasket
New water pump gasket
New inlet manifold gaskets
New exhaust manifold gaskets
New oil and filter
New sump Gasket
This isn't even the good bit about the car yet, the heads we're replaced 28,000 miles ago and the gearbox and diff were new from API only 8,000 miles ago and along with a 400bhp rated Exedy clutch and flywheel.
As people looking for P1's will know 75% of bottom ends let go at around 25,000 to 35,000, its just a known fact even when you speak to Subaru they admit the same, the new owner will not have to experience the cost of a expensive replacement/rebuild (I did instead lol) and shouldn't have any issues with transmission as its such a low mileage diff and box.
This stil isn't the best bits, the car also has the following mods;
Apexi Power FC ecu and Commander
Apexi induction kit
Autobann FMIC and hard pipe kit
Walbro 225 fuel pump
Baileys DV
Moongoose exhaust system and decat
18" Inovit white alloy wheels with 500 mile old Toyo Proxes tyres
The car makes around 340bhp
Someone is going to get themselves one of the nicest and reliable examples of a P1 in the country, I would rather sell to a Scoobynet member as I know they will treat it with the respect that it deserves, any questions don't hesitate to act!
She will be sadly missed, i'm looking for £14,000 o.n.o which I believe is a good price considering the spec and new engine!
Thanks, Steve
