Am posting on behalf of a friend.

Any offers or suggestions as to who might be interested (apart from the Terzo driver with no. 333 - think his/ her car might be worth less!)

Will Subaru UK be interested ??

Cheers

Kwakman,

Sorry for not getting back to you sooner! I have spoken to the owner and he has informed me...

That the plate has been around for some 50+ years. His Grandfather rallied using this plate successful for God knows how many years. He has photos of every car it has been on which include;

Porsche Carrera 2.0L (believed to be only example in GB!)
Jag XK 120's and 150's
Aston Martin DB5's
Porsche 911's
Lotus Elan's
Mini Cooper S
Racing Hillclimb MGB-GT's
Bentley's...
E-Type's
The list goes on!

The rallies it has competed on include (excuse spellings!);

Rome Leige
Monte Carlo
Geneva Rally
Tulipeen Rally
Mille Miglia
All UK Rallies and so on...

He is loath to selling it but sometimes you just gotta have the cash I suppose...

Anyway, in answer to your question he doesn't want to sell the plate for less than (flame suit please...) £10000! At the end of the day, he is open to offers and only he can decide what to take for it...

The history sounds cool but that really is a little rich for me. Thanks for asking tho Kingsize.

Just for info (and I'm really not trying to devalue the plate, which with it's history is clearly in a different league) you can buy T333 SUB along with J, K, L, M and N which would all work on a Terzo, for £250 from the DVLA. Also may appeal to an RB5 guy owning no. 333 LOL
I ended up with a 333 WRC plate as all the 555's have already sold
Good luck on the sale, nice plate but really a specialist item.
Regards
Chuck

I can see that my £3k offer was way out then

Could probably stretch to £5k but I'm pushing the boat out at that.

Yeah, I know the price is "extreme" but as mentioned, it really is a specialist item with all of the history

Mind you, it is only worth what somoone will pay for it. I offered to clean his car for him for a year or so

Mellow Yellow - I will tell him of your offer anyway - the plate jsut doesn't belong on a VW
