Thanks for all the replies guys....
I am considering all kind offers...apart from the really low ones lol.
Situation's got a bit complicated...I have had on order a Civic-R..Since Dealer (Lancaster, Pangbourne btw) let me down I have been in contact with other dealers today...Found one who have Honda garage in same group.
If I am able to cancel Honda order and get deposit back I will probably reorder Honda at other dealer with P1 sold to boot..(Takes the hassle factor out of it).
If however Honda mess me about and will not return deposit I will be willing to sell privately to highest or keenest bidder...
I will keep in contact with all interested parties...
watch this space...
On subject of getting deposits back has anyone been in this situation. I think I'm right in thinking that order is legally binding..?

Dealer CANNOT back out on buying your P1 - as long as its in the contract of course!! so I will assume it isnt????
The contract should state car buying + car in PX - all parties sign - legally binding upon dealer - simple
If dealer backs out - he is not only bound to give you your deposit back - but ALSO compensation!!

What you guys forget is that a dealer can do what the hell he likes with little recourse. Even if he gives you a written offer he can back out later - and the deposit is only refundable if it says so on the contract. I think you people forget this is a nasty old world and just because some veggie went to the European court of appeal once that "they cant do that" well wakey wakey - they can. He is running a business not a charity - and if you take him to court - it will be the small claims court and will cost you as much as you win. I know I was motor trade for 8 years.
