Default Built 2.5 Sti Price check

Not looking to sell at the moment but having just completed this round of upgrades I wondered how much the car would be worth (ball park)

Obviously I appreciate the market for such cars is small and will no way cover the amount of money that has gone into it !

No idea on price, but nice motor you have there, and great spec. Think you tried to sell this once before??. If you did want to sell and price is right I would be interested in this, and even more so if I could PX my mint E36 M3 Evo convertible against it.

I bought it about 6 months ago from a very good friend of mine, since then I've changed the turbo, headers,up pipe, injectors, tmic, clutch etc etc to get it into the 400's.

As I say I'm not really looking to sell it at the moment, just to get a feel for what it's worth - unless someone makes me an offer I can't refuse of course !

I wouldn't say thats far of the mark now TBH. When you consider you can get a 2.5 STI hawkeye 2006 for around 16K now, low miles warranty and very quick straight out the box.

The hawkeye could probably run 400/400 with little more than a remap, bigger turbo and injectors. And proably high 300's with nothing more than a remap.

This has got to have knock on affect with price of STI8's now.

Absolutely stunning car... makes me sick to think something that nice can only change hands for as little as £12,500

To the right person i'd say this is worth at least £14K, a guy i work with bought an almost standard 03 STI yesterday (only mod was blue/black leather interior) with 39K for £12K.

I like the spec and someone who wants a modded car will get a good deal there.

Never mod a car yourself I say, unless you have every intention of keeping it a very long time. I have learnt the hard way over the years. Looking back if I have just focused my finances in one direction only. I could probably be driving a brought and paid for 911 turbo by now.

No denying its a cracking car, whether you sell it or not and will no doubt represent great value anyone that does eventually buy it from you.

To the right person you could get lucky and get a premium for it in which case the car has to be valued anywhere between 12K and 16K. At either of these values its a long of 'Bang for ya buck'

Im looking to get my car near to that spec in a few years or so but want to wait until my engine has done more miles maybe 60+k. Like someone else has said only do your car up for yourself as the car will not be worth more than it being in standard guise. I would say £13.5k or £14k to someone who is looking for a modded car else £13k ... A lot of none performance cars are worth £6k for 03 and because of all the environmental awareness and credit squeeze people not so keen to buy now.

Its a good point about more normal 03 cars going for circa 6K. Case in point which is half way house, and I know its not a scoob etc. But the missus 03 Zafira GSI with just 17K miles stands me 7.5K and its truly mint. Her car previous to this Vectra GSI 03 with TV's, flip head unit, 40K sold for 5.5K. So puts things into perspective a little.

I agree the market is depressed but also worth remembering those cars are around 8 grand cheaper when new I think..

That Zafira sounds a real bargain though - used to have one for a while and really liked it..

Looks like I definately be keeping it for a while longer then Try and resist from modding it anymore..!

..hmmm although AST's and AP 6 pots would be nice

Best to sell to a mate or someone who knows the car.
Otherwise people only want a bargain.
Mods never really worth as much when selling a car on esp to a stranger whom does not know if its been tracked or drag stripped or just polished!
Mods can decrease the value, but this car does seem a good one.
Very hard to match your personal mods to someone elses taste.
Esp when you see nearly 1000 Impreza s on Pistonheads for sale.
Best to start high if not in a rush.
Or price it to sell!!
£12000 ish max ?
