I have one of these on my P1 now and must say its brilliant far better than the vf35 i was running, mine is mapped to 1.5 bar boost but in this cold weather i am regulary seeing 1.55 bar ,(using 10% methanol and millers octane booster).

Free bttt for an exellent turbo!!

dont mean to pick holes and im just interested. what would be the point in paying so much for this turbo when you can buy a vf35 for £300 and achieve the same power.
just curious mate.

You would be very hard pushed to get 350 out of a VF35 - it's possible but difficult...

Others that are running theem may know better but it will depend on other things - mapping etc. I would estimate full boost under 3300rpm

Whoa there boy! It's not a Garret internal turbo, it's an IHI core fitted with a Garret compressor wheel which is bigger, lighter and stronger than the original VF22 compressor wheel.

It is still my favourite bolt on turbo, as prototyped by myself and Danny Fisher way back in 2000. Still regret selling mine when I went for the big build 4 years ago...

IIRC on the road in my 1998 UK Turbo (with quite a large up pipe on HKS headers and an HKS FMIC with 6 row Link ECU) it was pulling 1 bar in 4th at about 2700rpm, hitting it's 1.25 bar peak by 3000.

Did you purchase this on Ebay in January? The one that smokes and need the seals replacing?

Bit naughty to not mention the problems when you sell it on to an unsuspecting buyer.

I went out in Tim's car fitted with this turbo and all I can is WOW! It pulled from so low down and just kept going and going! Well worth the money (if it's in good condition)
