Nokia (must sell)
#1
I have 2 phones for sale, 1 x Nokia 3330 & 1 x Nokia 3310
I know the full RRP is 149.95 & 129.95 respectivly.
I ordered these phones b4 realizing i could get better phones on upgrades (8850's @£105).
I put these phones for sale at £40 each with the hope that people will be prepared to offer more, Like an auction!
Both Phones are brand new (Never used) in there orignal boxes & are open to any network, contract or pay as u go.
Who ever offers me the most for each phone by the end Sunday will get it/them. please do not offer unless you are serious.
Phones will be sent Next Day Recorded/Insured delivery @ a cost to the buyer of £5.50. Or can be collected

Thanks for the replies & mails.
Can you just mail or post the price your prepared to pay, as opposed to me mailing people at the end of the month with my best offer.
If people post their price then other people know whether to bother bidding or not.
Thanks in advance

If we're gonna go down this route of an auction, we need some rules. Else people will bid and then for one reason or another might not be able to follow through with the transaction.
Should there by a time limit between each bid?
Who specifies the time limit?
What if people don't honour bids?
I don't disagree with the model just that we need to think carefully about it, IF this thread starts a precedent.
Just my 2p.

Sure, what ever keeps people happy.
I dont think there should be a time limit in between bids, just a time limit when the auction should end, (Sunday evening) as above
If people don't honour there bids then they should get named & shamed so to speak, + not be taken seriously again (auction wise)
Highest bid so far is £75 for one of the phones & £60 for the other.
If people post there bids then every one Knows im telling the truth
& not falsifying my bids

Not having a time limit between bids means that someone could slip in a bid of (last bid +2p) at 1 minute to the deadline and then that would be the highest bid. Not very fair to the previous punters who have submitted their bids in good faith.
People are always going on about how items are only worth what people will pay. Why restrict the bidding to a fixed deadline? Either the person wants as much a they want for the item (and auctions it) or they don't, in which case they should just name their price and sell it to whoever is willing to pay that price.
An exampl eof some noddy rules:
State Reserve Price
Bind increments, i.e. £1, £5, £10, etc.
Bid time limit, i.e. 48 / 72 hours
Whether the clock stops on weekends/bank holidays (gives people a fair chance to keep bidding if they are interested)
e.g
Auction - Nokia 3333
Reserve £40, bid increments £2, 72 hour rule, clock does not stop at weekends.
(My ISP has a conferencing system and their auction conference has run like this for years!)
