Default Highly modified UK Spec Subaru Classic Wagon

Highly Modified Subaru WRX Wagon 1998 UK spec

ImageShack - Hosting :: 142ie7.jpg

Right I currently have just put my car up for sale due to the change of jobs and also the fact that the car was no longer big enough so I purchased a Nissan Patrol.

The car was purchased off a friend so I know the history of the car from when it was a 100% standard through to the massive specification that it currently stands at.

I am looking for £5250 ono for the car, which I feel is very fair looking around at various prices.

The car specification is as follows but I am sure there will be bits I miss out as I have gone through the receipts but there is a rather large amount of them.

General Details

The car is a 1998 UK spec WRX wagon
Car has MOT and TAX and has about 6 months of each although this can be negotiated if need be.
Car has zero faults and runs like a dream
Car has recently been serviced and remapped to ensure all is working in tip top condition (which it is)
The car currently runs 349 BHP and 315 lbs although I have been told by my friend and a Subaru tuning garage that the engine is specified for a figure of well in excess of 400 BHP (I can give details of the well know garage should people want to discuss the car) although to go the whole hog would need additional money spent in areas such as the drive train.
The car was rebuilt to the following high specification in September 2006 approximately 13K miles ago. The car has done 120K miles in total but there are hardly any components left that have done anywhere near this mileage.

Engine Specification

Fully rebuilt engine in with the following parts
Phase 2 Engine Blocks
New Version 9 Crank
New Uprated Con rods
Omega .05mm Oversize Pistons and O rings
Uprated ARP Big End Bolts
Flowed Cylinder Heads
Ultrafast Road Spec Cams (Very wild cams based on a piper CAM)
V35 Turbo from a UK STI 7
Lightened Crank Pulley Fitted
Hybrid Front Mounted Intercooler
New Big End Bearings
RH Inlet Pulley
RH Outer Timing Belt Cover (Second hand when fitted)
RH exhaust Pully
All Stem seals replaced
Modified Oil Pump
New timing Belt
Metal Head Gaskets
Rear engine Oil Seal and CAM seals
Turbo Gaskets and all other gaskets new
XS Manifold without Lamda
New Mass Air Flow Meter about 2000 miles ago to allow a greater flow
K&N induction kit
Forge Blow off Valve
AP Racing Oragnic Clutch
Uprated Fuel pump
Uprated Fuel Injectors
71 Deg thermostat
Flamer Kit has been fitted (not to my taste and never used it but it is there if you fancy it?)
Modine Oil Cooler and oil filter relocation kit
10/50 Fully Synthetic Silkolene Pro S oil has always been used since the rebuild
Roger Clark Motor Sport Radiator Cooling Panel
Roger Clark Motor Sport Full Exhaust System (Down pipe, Centre pipe without box and rear silencer)
Red Coolant Hose Kit
Apexi Power FC ECU
Apexi V4 Power FC hand Commander (allows easy mapping of the Power FC from the car)

Interior Specification

Defi BF Amber 60mm Oil Pressure Gauge
Defi BF Amber 60mm Turbo Boost Pressure Gauge
Defi BF Amber 60mm Oil Temperature Gauge
Defi Controller for the above 3 gauges
Turbo Timer (Blitz)
Link Knocklink Display Unit (No Detonation problems on the car but nice to see for sure)
UK Spec Black Leather Interior - Very good condition

Wheels and Suspension Specification

Toyo Proxes T1S tyres
Rear strut brace
Front strut Brace
Eibach Springs
17” Silver Turini Alloy Wheels
Uprated front and rear roll bars
Anti lift kit

Body work

Red mudflaps
Colour coded sills, wing mirrors
The body work is very good condition for the year not perfect in every way but it is exceptional condition really as the photos show. There is the odd parking dent etc but nothing that detracts from the look of the car

Brakes

Front and rear disks from later version Subaru 4 pots for the front (will try and find out what model they are from)
Braided Brake hose kit

Car History

The car has a service log book with various stamps from new until now and has all recent receipts since the modifications have begun so the history is very good. The history is not perfect in terms of paper work for its whole life but I do have every bill for every mod no matter how small so you know exactly what you are getting and what has been done

The car has been rebuilt to the current specification in September 2006 when the mileage was around 107K so the current engine has done approximately 13K miles. The engine was given to B.G.V engineering to carry out the rebuild to the specific specification that was requested as they are exceptional engine builders.

If you are seriously interested in this car and have any questions just let me know. This is not your average Subaru and has been built to a far higher engine specification than the actual power suggests and there are no current faults with the car at all.

As mentioned the car is for sale for £5250 however as always I would be open to reasonable offers.

A lot of people have asked for some more photos so I have added a lot.

The only changes is that the front now has black sti head lamp covers, which really set it off.

I have also added one showing all the recent receipts that the car has.

Hope that shows the condition of the car as one pic does not do it justice

Probably, but it's finding the right buyer, then it will go. Also, when people realise what road tax they'll be paying next year, I think that classics will increase in value again.

Yer there is the tax issue that might help.

Must admit I thought I was offering it at a good price considering the bills for the car must be getting on for the 20K mark.

I might consider dropping the price in a week or so then if it does not sell I will keep the car and sell one of my others.

Thanks for your comments

Will try to remember mate but I have a bad memory

Might end up keeping it and selling one of the other cars as I do need a better MPG car for work.

Must admit think it is a bad time to try and sell, plus I remember trying to sell my 530 BHP R33 GTR a few years ago took a while because of the spec.

Most people seem to want to start with a standard car and do there own work so they know whats done exactly.

Yeah I think you're right, I couldn't sell my Scooby recently too and it's only mildly modded. I'm looking for a track-day car and your wagon might be perfect, camping gear in the back drive to the nurburgring happy days!!

Right decision time for me is looming as the Insurance is up for renewal very soon, and I dont want to insure 3 cars.

I have dropping the price to £4750 in a bid to sell the car.

The car will be for sale for about another 2 weeks, until the insurance is duea and then if it is not gone i will be selling another car and keeping this (more fun I am sure )
