For Sale. VW Golf GTi 1.8 8v. 1987 E reg. Jade Green Metallic. 57000 genuine miles. One doctor owner for 13 years. Total VW service history, 19 services carried out to date, average 3000 miles per service. Every single bill, purchace invoice, reciept, and MOT saved. Teardrop alloys. No mods, original radio etc. Insured on classic policy (£250 per year, no no claims). Computer currently showing 43mpg average over last 1100 miles. Drives as brand new. Now getting sought after in this condition.

Car is currently stored in parents heated garage. But the Old Man now wants to fill his garage with something more exotic, and is arguing that I don't really need 4 cars. He is probably right, so one sadly has to go.

In Autotrader for £2995 next week. Offers accepted? ollybraithwaite@hotmail.com. Thanks.

Darren, I wish he did live in the garage with the dog, it would be better than him living at my house.

Good to see you boys last night. Almost like old times.

Daz, what date is this track day thing at Oulton? Do they allow Transits on?

Yeah right, I can see your dad letting you use his diesel racing transit. He'll tell you to use the Range Rover instead

True, true... He thinks more of his Tranny vans than he does of that Brummie heap. Range Rover would be no good, sliding around on all that leather.

Christmas, lend me one of your heaps.

Jokin' apart, what do you need for a trackday, apart from a set of Mintex 1166's? Helmet? Licence? Cans of Stella?(joke)

Golf still for sale by the way.

Hi Olly

Was interested in your statement "Insured on classic policy (£250 per year, no no claims)" as I'm also selling a Mk2 GTI (well, 16v) but if I can cheapo insurance as a 2nd car on a classic policy I may just keep it!

Have you any more info on who provides this etc?

Cheers

Richard

Oh, and BTTT for you :-)

Sure. I insured the Golf with Diamond Insurance. www.diamondinsuranceconsultants.co.uk. They also insure my 1.9 205GTi (£314 per year) and CrisPDuk's 4x4 Sierra (cheap as well, even despite the fact he's a lunatic on the road).

I am a good boy, living in a nice area, 27 years old with no accidents. Cars are garaged. No no claims. Both Golf and Pug are on limited mileage policies of 2000 miles a year.

As a pointer, I insure the Golf, 205 and my '98 MX5 1.8Is combined for less money than my old MY2001 WRX.

Hope this helps.

Olly.

I resent the statement that I am lunatic on the road, you cheeky git. This implies that I lead the rest of my life in a sensible manner

On a serious note people, I have seen this car, if it wasn't for the fact that the missus thinks four cars is enough, I would by it myself.
