Default Rear Brembos '08

Bought a set of front and rears to fit my legacy b4 from subaru sti 08, those are Brand New. Fronts fitted, rears didnt fit.

Selling rear calipers with brake pads ONLY, or will trade them for '05 gold brembo calipers with brake pads as those should fit my leggy...

If you have a trade for me, im expecting the calipers to be in perfect shape with a brand new (or close to) brake pads.

Otherwise, offers at 300 pounds.

And i have no clue what cars they can or cannot fit, so be sure that they can fit your car, as the trade will be final.

Whats the bolt spacing on your leggy mate ?

The gold brembos bolt at 11.3cms apart and the MY08's at 14 cms.

I am sourcing/manufacturing a bracket to work with the godspeed kit to fit to my classic. The godspeed kit fits at 14cms to the chassis and then 11.3 to the gold brembos but I need a 14cm 14cm bracket. The MY08's offer no extra braking power over the golds ones and won't fit new age Scoobs or classics without a bespoke bracket. Give MarkB4 a PM as I am sure the gold brembos wouldn't fit his car either

When I get the bracket made up I can let you have the details if you want

So did you pay £710, 640 or 600 I have been watching the auctions

640.

The sad part is that because we thought its the same fitment as the gold ones, we had a special bracket made already ( legacy's bracket design is different, and the rear brake conversion kit for the classic doesnt work) Which set me back quite a bit. So unless someone wants to buy a legacy B4 bracket for the gold brembo's for 120 pounds, im afraid i have to pass on the new bracket that you are making - plus if it fits the classics with your bracket, it doesnt mean that it will fit a legacy, so its even more complications which i dont want.

I share your frustration I bought the first set and the auction description was slightly different and misleading for new age owners and despite assurances the godspeed kits didn't work on my classic and cost £205 i am just glad I didn't try and fit them to the Spec D

The rear brakes will fit from 2002 onwards but can be made to fit Classic models using custom brakets.

I bought some Brand new Gold brembos to get me to October when I am going to fit the MY08's on the rear next brake service. Shame as you could have had those as they are brand spanking like those loverly black ones. TBH if you have to fit the gold versions you are better off getting some real sh1tters and refurbing them in black.

Good luck, on the upside 640 is still a good price for the fronts including the discs and pads

True mate, i spoke to the seller about returning the rears only, but he wants the whole kit back, so i guess i have to find a buyer for those and get the gold one!
The brakes are indeed brank spanking new, so its a very good deal even if its just the fronts

So with this logic, the cars with gold brembo's (any newage cars ? ) can be equipped with the '08 brembo's using a godspeed classic conversion bracket right ?

No, the holes/bolts are drilled spaced specific to lift the caliper from sitting at a 270mm disc height to a 316mm disc. In theory if the calipers are mounted to the backing plate you could modify the backing plate to fit at 14cms and dremel off ony obstructions in the way the plate is bent. I don't know what else might be in the way of such an arrangement though. On the classic its just a small top slice off the backing plate then using the godspeed kit (handbrake shoes and spacers) and an bespoke bracket.

Cheers. So the classic uses 270mm disk. Legacy uses 290mm rear disk and i guess thats one of the main reasons you cant use classic bracket conversion to work on the legacy.

Loving that they look fantastic on the black. I could only get as close as gunmetal in the size and wheel I wanted
