Default Sti version 5 type r re-build?

Wondering if anyone can help, the big ends went on my scoob last night, stripped it down today to confirm that number 3 suffered the most hammer but all have had some wear.
I'm gonna set about re build this asap, want a reliable car, not mega power but maybe something that can handle 330 bhp eventually.
seen many variations on rebuild but don't wanna spend big. was thinking of acl race bearings main and ends, uprated oil pump and head gaskets. I've also got a sti 7 crank which i can use if it will fit. and a vf24 instead of the vf28.
Is it a must to put forged pistons steel rods in?
Can anyone reccomend a supplier who is cheap and quick with delivery want to get it back on road asap.
