I do not know the history of the block, I brought it years ago as one of a job lot of CDB's secured by Money. I was going build a 2.33 but have decided to keep to 400bhp as I can not justify the cost. As you can see the rods, pistons and crank are still attached. If you want higher res close up pics of the block drop me your email and I will send you whatever you request.

NEW CDB is about £1000+vat... and thats a bare block... It is also the best block to use for high power builds.... so in all reality it is worth as much as one is willing to pay.
I have seen second hand CDB's go for over £400 in need of a rebore.

No a semi closed deck block looks like the one below
Compare that to a CDB sold by RCM

Joey the CDB are stronger so are ideal for big power builds. They can also be converted to 2.2,2.3 or 2.5.

Dont get the EJ20 closed deck confused with the EJ22 closed deck.
There is a big price difference.

EJ20 in the early RA version 1 sti and few others, EJ22 was fitted to the early legacy.
