Default 1999 Evo6. Swap/px high powered Impreza

I've has my Evo for a little while now but I'm still regretting selling my Impreza. (View my Scoob)

1999 T reg Evo6.
Will have 1 yrs mot when sold.
5mnths tax.
FSH
Standard apart from a decat pipe and HKS superdragger exhaust. Running 300bhp
New lash adjusters fitted.

Absolutely stunning car. Never fails to turn heads. Just wish I liked it

I honestly cannot fault the car. There is nothing wrong with it. Its just not a Subaru though.

My previous Impreza had 320bhp and 320lbs/ft of torque so i'm only interested in cars with similar power or more. Bugeye Sti's welcome but nothing below a 1999.

Or will sell for £8595.

Please PM me with offers.

Hi mate. I'm intrigued... Why do you not like the Evo (I love Evo VI's, especially in white)? Is it the case that it's got 'no character' compared to the Impreza?

Mileage is 59k.

Dont really know why I dont like it. I used to throw the Impreza around and loved the handling. Evo just feels big.

Dont get me wrong, the Evo handles superbly but I used to love coming off roundabouts in 3rd gear with 320bhp.........in the wet. now I go round the same ones in 2nd in the evo and it doesnt budge

Hmmn, let me see now...

Want a 1999MY>on... Need 300+ bhp... Evo feels big i.e. read heavy (which it is, relatively)... Got a penchant for a mobile rear end, but can't have 2 doors (Type R out, then).

...Surely it's GOT to be a version 5 or 6 STi Type RA, that's had its ECU mapped via Ecutek? It will have over 300bhp, is the lightweight model (1270kg and significantly lighter than the Evo 6!), plus the adjustable DCCD to satisfy your rear-end shenanigans! Get the V-Limited Sonic Blue model, or a Feather White one... they look fabulous, too! Go on, you know it makes sense.

EDIT: If you can't find a suitable car on here and you're not in any particular hurry, you could do a lot worse than to sell the Evo privately (and get top dollar into the bargain!), Then I'd be tempted to get an Impreza via Newera. Miguel, the buyer in Japan, is a Jap car nut and it shows in the examples he brings in to the UK. You can put in a request for the precise model, spec, etc. and I'm sure they'll sort you out. You'll get an unmolested example that will be prepped within an inch its life. Okay, so you have to pay top prices, but the ownership satisfaction will be immense...

N.B. Salient point!... Obviously, if you hold on to September, you can get a v.5 STi Type RA without having to worry about the expense of renting out the ESVA Model Report (especially as I think one hasn't been compiled for this model... and the STi Type R, for that matter).

A shed load more.! 120miles to a full tank. I sold my 03 STI to buy an Evo 6. mine was allot more powerful than this one here, near 400bhp which would account for the crap fuel economy.

I will say this.. out of the box the Evo 6 handled better than the 03 STI. Way more confidence in what the car was going to do and it didn't under steer at all. I dont get the Evo feels numb arguments that crop up every now and then. I felt the trick AYC etc did a fantastic job of keeping the thing planted. Which at the end of the day is what you want.

An Evo is a hardcore car and it needs a hardcore owner.

Best of luck with the sale. Its a fantastic car.... you should own one once even if only for a little while.

<------ view my scooby might be interested, though the car is a 97 model but it more than satisfies your power criteria at 440.1bhp

Some updated pics of the car here

How did you rate your 400bhp Evo compared to the Sti? If I dont get the deal I want then taking the Evo down the 400 route is a possibility. Think I might like it better then.

The STI wasnt a match for the Evo.. saying that i havent had an STI with more than 330bhp or mods to the suspension. I can only imagine a good comparrison would be a spec C.

I sold the Evo for a few reasons. I didnt like the fuel economy, i hated the fact that the nearest place to get the AYC service was over 200miles away from me.

Believe it or not my 600bhp skyline is better on fuel than the Evo.
