lee, you will find the filter will need to be cleaned after you have used it about 3 times (this is the second one I have had, so i am speaking from experience) they get really gross!! hair, body fat, dead skin, flys etc you get the idea.
you have to have chemicals simple as really, it holds approx 800 litres of water, it takes about 2 hours to fill it with a hose pipe, plus it takes about 14 hours to heat it up to 40 degrees so after all that you wont want to be messing about emptying it and re-filling just for the sake of chlorine and ph etc. the water will get discgusting after just a couple of times being used and the heating process is quite expensive on your electric, once heated its quite cheap to run costs about £4 a week to keep it hot.
look on ebay for a starter chemical kit, you will get them for abvout £20 ish. think bestway actually do a kit for this.
