1974 VW BEETLE 1303S.... A "PROPER" FLAT FOUR? ;o)

Sadly rationalising the fleet means this one has to go!! ... just not getting any use any more..
been TSL'd a little... not perfect obviously for that money but pretty darn sound. and a scream to drive!
* New clutch with proper flywheel skim
* New discs and pads!!.. YES discs!!!
* EIBACHS AND GEOMETRY!!! ... SERIOUSLY!!
* Extractor exhaust with quiet pack on
* Golf GTi interior (adds 5 bhp)
ideal other car for when the scoob shouldn't be playing out!
insurance about 50p a year! ... classic you see
performance non existent!... it is the fastest beetle they ever made but that still only means about 50 bhp!!
say £800 ono!
12 months MOT.. please call if you need to know any stuff!
Cheers

A friend could be interested.
What's the milage? How good is the bodywork? That sort of info would be appreciated.
Does it come into the 'historic vehicle' tax bracket? M plate is borderline IIRC.
Cheers.

hi scoobyster
its pretty good... going in a few beetley places like rear quarter bottoms a little and the odd blister on the wings... but really solid generally... please give my number to them... if they like i can do a panel by panel picture library so they can assess the condition.
If hey are into Beetles they will know a. where to look and b. that this one is bl**dy cheap anyway!
cheers mate

we're not miles apart then......either in price or mileage... pop and have a look if you like, its here at TSL (much to Dad's disgust) ... if you know me, i am happy to haggle .... it needs to go, and i'd rather "gift" it to a real v-dubber than have it sitting there doing nowt!.. its not good for them!
Cheers

some pics as requested... very sorry its taken so long peeps!
....like i said... needs to go as i hate to see a car like this not getting daily use... these 1303's are the most sensible daily driver as they have "proper" brakes, suspension and steering and unusually for a beetle, a heater that actually raises the cabin temperature! ..
might even consider swapping it for some choice scooby bits for the express!
cheers

Hi Paul.
I've printed your post for my friend, she's looking into insurance costs and convincing her parents that they need to buy a car for her! (She's 18, looking for her 1st car).
Neither I or she know much about Beetles, but having had a look in Autotrader, your price seems very reasonable.
I'll leave it up to my friend to contact you now.
Cheers,
Ben
Edited to ask if you could email me ( subaruweb@hotmail.com ) the photos, I'll show them to my friend. Also, could you give a milage figure, and does it get the free road tax?
