As long as you haven't opened it, the 3 red lights are covered under Microsoft's extended warranty (3 years). Call MS on 0800 587 1102. You'll be without it for a few weeks, but it's a free collection and return plus a free repair.

if it's only 20 months old, that's correct, unless it's been tampered/opened/chipped etc.

i opend it up. the paste on the chip that makes contact to the radiator has melted and dribbled down the sides. this has made the chip/board overheat. there is a "towel" repair you can do. ive done this. it then works for a number of hours before it needs doing again. i just want shut of it.

still try sending it back, a few people I know have sent them back with no warranty seal on at all and they have come back all repaired no problem at all.

You're right it doesn't. My box was modded and all I did was get the guy who did it to reflash it with the original firmware and sent it back.

He advised me to completely remove the seal as lots left the factory without one.

MS sent me a brand new replacement.
