John,

Can't seem to send you PM's as your inbox is full.

This is what i want to send to you:

John
Is this diff still available?

I'm certainly interested. Can you advise if any issues in fitting to a UK 99 turbo?

I'm not really too 'up' on diff spec etc so can you tell me what the benefits over the normal UK one?

Also, what mileage has it covered?

I stripped 3rd on my 5spd box yesterday and am going to take the 6spd route now. Got a Jap box lined up so i think your diff will be ideal.

Cheers

James

will fit a 99 turbo as its R160. depending on the my of the casing which JS can confirm, the shafts may need changing, either that or have the diff built into your casing to guarantee it fits
google "quaife atb" and it will tell you everything you need to know, but yes this is imo a massive inprovement on the std diff.
the atb sends drive/power to the wheel that has traction, rather than the other way round with a normal diff.
So much so that I bought one. for a lot more money than this.

It will fit with the 6 speed and you get to keep the back axle R160 as well to save a few quid over the R180 coversion.

Peanuts,

Thanks for the info. Yes, i searched Quaife's website last night so saw some info about it. I'm assuming it's the ATB Helical LSD diff?

Cheers, I'll wait and see what John says when he sees this post again.

To be honest, i'm happy to proceed with the purchase. Just interested to know how many miles it's covered and see if there's any chance of a pic. The pic is less important but it always helps when forking out decent sums of money over the net!

I'm slightly worried about the fitment of the diff into the assembly at the rear but i'm hoping someone up here in Aberdeen will be capable of carrying out the work. It'll be the same person who is fitting the gearbox so i'm sure they'll know what they're doing!

Come on John, you've got a sale here.

Cheers

Jim

I will give john a bell and let him know you are looking for some info.
This is 100% genuine so you have no need to worry on that front.

Default In Box

Sorry, didn't realise inbox was full.

Jim, if you have an MY99 car then you would need Shafts from an My98 or earlier. The offside shaft then needs to be modified (10 secs with a grinder).

I don't have any pics od the Diff as it's in a lockup remote from the house where I store parts to cut down on the clutter in the garage

As to milage, I don't remember, but it's a VERY small number as it was in my sprint car. I replaced with an R180 setup from a Bugeye STi, big brakes/hubs/shafts etc.

Diff is in perfect working order.

Someone has also approached me on 22b.com regarding this though. I'd have to give him first refusal !

John,

Thanks for the reply. Well i'm happy to pay full asking price for the unit.

If the deal with the 22B.com buyer falls through then i'll take it.

I'm off to Munich tomorrow night for a 4 day stagger but will endeavour to check this thread for a response. I can paypal or bank transfer the cash.

Cheers

James
