Default Impreza STI Version 3 1997 £3450

Due to my mortgage payment rising by 33% I am unfortunately having to sell my pride & joy.

The car comes with MOT & TAX (6 months of each) The STI Imprezas are the models to go for as they have uprated Pistons and conrods as standard (280bhp as standard as opposed to UK models with 215) along with Bigger brakes and a whole host of things that WRX and UK models didn't get.

Its black with a red mica, The Engine has been replaced with a 98 Version 4 STI RA engine(40k)& a VF34 turbo fitted last year from japerformance (Receipts to prove engine & turbo)

The car comes with the following sensible mods :

Decat Pipe

Magnex oval rear box - Sounds lovely

Green air filter

Nology HT leads

Blitz turbo timer - Also can be used as a Boost Gauge

Bonnet specers( 15mm)-Can be removed easily if not to your liking

Crystal indicators and side repeaters.

Lowered on Tein springs

Grooved Brake Discs

Toad Cat 1 Alarm and Immobiliser

+ all standard STI bits abs, 4pot brakes, quick shift, carbon dash surround, carbon strut brace, electric folding mirrors, fog light covers, sti lights etc etc.
A Tracker is currently fitted and is about £120 a year to go live with the new owner (The new owner can choose whether they want it or not)

The car has excellent tyres all round -The brakes stop very sharply and have plenty of life left in them. The interior is immaculate, it's without stain, rip or burns. Also has an Alpine Headunit & Pioneer Speakers

Lots of paperwork for the car, has been serviced well. Mileage is at 110k which is a mixture of Kilometers and miles.

The car runs faultlessly, no noises, bangs or anything that shouldn't be there. I've always run it on Shell V Power (I live 30 secs from the garage) Its always warmed up before use and cooled down with the turbo timer. In total there are receipts for about £6000 with the car.

Couple of bad points:
the body has a few soft car park dings & scuffs but nothing to eye catching
the boot has an x scratched on just above nsr light
air con could do with re-gassing

SOLD

Found out tonight its a VF34 turbo, not a vf24 as I originally thought. Presume its a better turbo? Does seem to pull exceptionally hard.

Has the ecu been changed or mapped to take the VF34 turbo?

The ECU is a v4 one, but it's not had any problems with the turbo on there or the DECAT. Boosts to 1.34 then tails off to 1.1-1.15

The V4 ecu runs lean at best. Running the larger VF34 without adjusting the air/fuel ratio is not advisable. I would atleast get it checked.

I've thought this before, but nothing seems to indicate to me that it's running lean if anything a bit rich/to about right. I've checked for any white exhaust smoke and build up around the exhaust and its black, but not too thick if you know what I mean. Your probably right in getting it checked, but I would of thought if anything was going to go wrong it would have done over a year ago when it was fitted.

The bloke that won it has said he needs to sell his car 1st, why he bid on it if he's got no funds I don't know.

Had someone today say that they'd come and have a look at it, but didn't turn up! I could second chance the car to the other person who bid on it before and has actually viewed the car but he's got to sell his car as well. Bit pissed off really.
