Car pushes out 160 bhp at 9 psi boost, adjustable to 14 psi.

This car will eat scoobies. Sorry I meant it the other way round, Scoobies will eat this car alive.

This car has a lot potential, ie 1/4 runs or just as a second car.

AntBlue-
u r right, from your spec I think Scoobys will have a hard time keeping up with you. R5 r great cars, but a lot of money needs to be spent on it for maintenace. Have u still got the R5 and r u a R5 club member?

The 5GTT is just back on the road, after extensive work. £2699.99 has just been spent on it to make it bl00dy fast. Althought i wont know this till the engines run in. 5's are a moderately good car but with mine that much power in the small car it is, its scary believe me, although i would rather have a scooby i know it will leave most behind

Question

OK, lots of money spent but would it beat my old track day car E9** Y** which, minus a few bits (big wheels and brakes) and plus a few bits (orrible front intercooler) is now the faster UK qtr mile holder for the new owner?. 12.6secs?.. Hmmm baet that!

And I dont believe 160bhp at 9psi, even mine couldnt do that? but I still could overtake a 320bhp escort cossie on the Silverstone straight in Trax2000!. As winessed by many after he held me up on the corners!. (Surely people know what a turning in point is?).

One of my mates had a R5, with a std turbo which pushed out 22 psi, then he sold it but a few weeks later the buyer blew the turbo and benmt one of the valve. What a suprise.

The needle on the turbo gauge use to hit the bottom edge of the dash when full boost was used.

Also there is a red Mazda 323 Turbo rolling around Leciester, which goes to B'ham every saturday for races. This car beats anything, inc R5's, Evo's, Scooby's. This car is rapid.

Doubt id beet it but id give it a bloody good going
Yes my gauge, does get thrown all the way over to the right!!
The most boost it could run would be 2bar but id like to keep it under that !!!

When u put ur foot down, does the front wheels lose traction? and does it wheel spin during gear changes? Got to say R5's are rapid, esspecially on the lights.

Just Ant will do. Yeah ive even had the wheels spinning in fourth when it was wet!!!!
i think thats mad!!!
it's hard to get traction on front wheel driven cars, thats why ull never see one doing a ten second 1/4 mile
a fast front wheel driven car would be around 14 seconds!
mine should do that, Steve recons it will do around 13!
I raced a porsche once it was behind me it never caught me up it was a 911.
It did start creaping closer around 95mph though
R5's rock but don't hold there value one bit!!
When the engines run in on this baby no way im trashing it!!!!
