Going to put a quick post up as little busy, but wanted to give notice that im selling the car as she stands as im unable to afford to fix it at this time, so seeing what the interest is as it stands now.

1998 Import Wrx in Black mica (with red fleck)
Black/Gunmetal Prodrive PD7 17" alloys
Black Mud flaps
Facelift interior, Dash, steering wheel etc
Sti wishbones
Sti rear lights
All usual extra's like A/C climate control, elec Windows and mirrors (and elec fold in)
Full openmouth decat downpipe
Scoobysport decat centre
Scoobysport rear box
(Very loud, and sounds like a spitfire on full chat)

Was Running 285bhp with a VF22, yellow injectors and map running at dead on 1 Bar.
Full Surrey Rolling road report to prove.

Body work is very good, interior is very good.
Drives superb.

The problem......On saturday on the way to my girlfriends in Bromley, engine started to make some terrible noises.
RAC checked it over and said its terminal, possible Bigends.
RAC recovered it and brought me home by low loader so is now sitting on my driveway.
Has been turned over once very, very brief, and bangs loudly. Immediately switched off.

Im in no position to be able to afford to repair it at this time, So im going to see if it will sell as it stands now, needing a possible new bottom end etc...

Not willing to Break it as last thing I want is parts everywhere.
I need a car for work, so the sooner this sells, the sooner I can buy a cheap car to get me to work and so on.

Price wise, its difficult to put a price on it as to me its worth alot, but in its current state, well, not alot, lol.









If I put up a price of say £1700 to keep in the rules of the Board, then anyone interested, feel free to contact me and im sure we can sort something out.


(Slim chance but...
Im after an early MX5, so would swap for an early one, dont care engine size.)

Im sure alot of people have gone through things like this, and makes you feel bad, especially when the car is so nice, and looks how you have always wanted one to look.

Although I have that price up, its probably a little high, so feel free to make a decent offer... , no doubt ill take something silly, lol :

Give it a couple more days mate and you might feel differently about getting rid of your car, you can pick up bare wrx engines for 400 quid, bit of work and your car will be back to normal, you will get a few quid for your old engine also.

Car isn't an Sti but does have the 280hp engine albeit fubared.

As the brother of sterns, on his behalf I can say he has been away since early hours friday morning and will be back on friday 5th. With regard to any pm's, I'm sure he will respond to any on his return.

For the record also, the car was collected on sat 29th following an agreement made off this forum almost immediately after the post of this thread.

I hope this explains things a little better in his absence.
