Zangzub,

I paid £12800 for mine in October last year. Jan '99 STi V5 in Silver. Immaculate, no mods (prior to my ownership ), one owner, full history...

She now blats out over 310 bhp and I still grin like a banshee every time I drive anyway in it

Edited to say it had just under 30k

It came with an HKS Electronic Boost Controller. The previous owner wanted to lower the boost to make it more fuel efficient

I added a full exhaust system with the boys at Japanese Tuning in Aldershot (Mongoose straight through). Went from 258 bhp standard to 305

HKS SQV Dump Valve and ARC Induction kit which brought my torque curve up considerably quicker. Last dyno read 309.5 bhp/ 264 lbf-ft before the induction kit...

And of course the 18" wheels, clear indicators, STi pedals, TV screen, two amps, speakers, car kit (phone)... All in the name of speed of course

£12750 may be right. Maybe mine was a steal? Seeing as it had some 15k less, I would offer £12000. "It's a buyer's market..."

Cheers,

I shall hatch my plan then .... now, all I need to know is how to get a 350bhp STi V from a standard one )

Do you find the increased torque makes a big difference ? And is the stock suspension up to it ...

I drove an Evo VII yesterday and it felt 'solid' with a stock engine, apparently well able to handle an extra 50bhp or so is desired ...

ZZ,

The car feels great although as it is my first Scooby, I have nothing to compare it to. I am sure there are plenty of afficianados on here who will say that uprated suspension makes a huge difference and I am sure it does, but for my day to day use, the car feels up to it. My next major mod (after grooved Pagid discs with Ferodo pads, braided hoses and fluid) will be the Front Mounted Intercooler. This will happen when I get an offer for my daughter on the blackmarket

The FMIC I am told should increase output by some 30 bhp give or take but as I have not looked into it yet, I fear that it may require several other smaller mods to take the increase in power. (any advice on this would be much app. not to hijack the thread ) The torque increase does make a huge difference in driveability as the power is on tap lower in the rev range making swift progress easier and less rev dependant. I would really like to increase that torque but as the funds are almost all gone, it will have to wait. I should think the FMIC will also hugely improve this.

A Lexus GS300 was getting frisky on the M3 today. Had to be dispatched

Edited as my speeling and smiley application was suspect!

I need to go to bed...

Zangzub, I would offer 12k. At that kind of price you should easily bag it for under 12,500. People expect to be knocked down a little.
