hi free to good home rover 420 1997
engine failed on way home last night auxiliary belt snapped and then got caught in cam belt.Removed all auxiliary belt from around cam belt but engine won't start
was just going to scrap but if someone wants it. would need towed away

Scrap it as mentioned. Take the cat off it though, its another 25-40 quid scrapped separately.

Have prices gone back up again then? I was getting £35 for cats but it suddenly plummeted to £10. Same for scrap cars - I was offered £150 a while back but onlt £30 a few weeks later.

Prices differ in regions. In Essex, cats did drop down low, but they're up again, but not like they used to be.

Fluffy, look on ww.yell.com for scrap metal merchants, not scrap yards where they break cars. The sme place might buy the cat aswell. But if you leave it on the car, they won't tell you and give you the money. You have to take it off and hand it over.
