Default Would anyone be interested in some Old Skool Garage/Jungle Sets from 1995 to 2005?

following on from the how to make money online thread

i just had an idea while looking through my music shelf..

i have some old cassete special box sets of proper goold old garage music before all the 2 step stuf that came along..

and i myself only listen to them on the hifi due to them being audio tape

so thought would people be interested in buying them on 1 dvd disk in mp3 format? then you cant edit and make cds however you like from them?

Ive converted audio tape sbefore and just thought at least this way i can make some money back from them

The tape packs have printed prices on and altogether have a value of £150.

The tapes are exposure tapes, uk garage award winning SunCity, cosa nostra etc ranging from 1995-2005, all the BEST DJs and MCs!

Some live performances, some classic sets, sometimes MCs starting jumping on jungle (e.g. DT and viper, preshus etc and start battling it out on jungle, ) rinse outs, EZ cutting on almost every pack and some classic classic moments that will make you LAUGH and bring back some memroies!

a picture of the sets here, as you may rememebr the covers

ImageShack - Image Hosting :: f8601nf8.jpg

i was thinking £25 delivered as these truly are classics specially the sun city sets and i doubt you'd be able to purchase them again.

what do people think? if theres enought interest, i'll start converting

cheers

p.s. each set in the pic ranges from 8 audio tapes to 12 casste sets so there is a lot of audio there..

I might be tempted for £15, although I'd want to hear a couple of samples; I wouldn't be interested in any of the 'we is proper wicked crew' type crap that came out after about 2001...(re UK Garage)

also note having just looked at the sets its going to take a while, so probs wont be completed this weekend, hopefully next weekend though

as each cassette = 80mins? 10 or so cassettes per set etc. longer than i thought lol each set was bought for around £25 give or take £5 , so quite an expensive collection

Look forward to it mate.
It was much better when it was more underground IMHO; from the looks of it a fair amount of this will fall into that category.

After the Artful Dodger released Re-rewind and it went mainstream, every man and his dog seemed to jump on the bandwagon and it's been a while since I've heard a really good vocal track other than the odd MJ Cole / Duncan Powell remix - the scene's been too clogged with too many wannabe rappers shouting along to some dodgy baseline which isn't really my scene!

I do still hear some good stuff on Subjam though - Subjam FM » Shouts - when the live feed is working it's sometimes quite a laugh.

yeh i know what you mean mate, it is the undergroud stuff, hopefully if you like this i'll bring out my old hardcore jjungle sets also as i have just as many and make a cd of just pure jungle classics.

the garage like on these tapes i havnt heard for ages, been listening to them on my walkmen plugged into pc speakers lol every morning since i saw them the other day..

the only thing you wont get is in some of the sun city sets they have a vhs tape/recording live from castle club ayai napa where they are performing so you get a feel for the atmosphere aswell lol

brings back memrories to when i went there.. soon gotta switrch it off and come back to the real world.

i'll try and get a sample up quick.. i thought i may find a sample on youtube lol but they aint any, proper rare stuff! recorded live

I know the sort of stuff you're on about.
I have a load of Dreamscape 12 cassette pack's from 20-25 which covered everything from Happy Hardcore to Drum and Bass and Hard House, and a few Helter Skelter 8 packs for Drum N Bass, really good stuff.

I can't bring myself to part with them until I've put em onto MP3 but at the same time I haven't bothered yet doing em - maybe I'll use my day off tomorrow to do some!

It is funny though - last year I bought a top of the range Panasonic walkman with full LCD control, rechargeable battery etc etc - I remember back in the day it would have cost around £150 and I got it off ebay for about £15 lol.

haha yeah i know what you mean and im the same with regards to the sets, i just put them away after i stopped using cassette player etc. will be good to get them onto mp3 for myself too, specially when going out with some old mates, play this in the car and we'll all remmeebr the days we were in cyprus.

hey well hopefully with me doing this, it'll make you convert your sets to Mp3!

and then we'll buy whatever sets are missing off you

i'll limit this first dvd to uk house and garage plus as much jungle i can get on it, and then convert the other hardcore jungle sets at a later date, once ive over played these lol

ok just an update after a busy weekend of uploading.. i have some bad news . after opening some of the tape sets i found some cassettes missing which were obviously borrowed and not returned and also some of the tapes were knackered and half way through the tape they start skipping and all sorted..

well pissed off ! however that all said the majority was working fine! and ive got some good audio for you guys!

here is a print screeen of the files on the CD!

i will get a sample up as requested before i start selling them. I'll do this either tonight or tomorrow as im currently away from home and aint got fast internet to do any uploading.

p.s. how do i get the image to embed in the post?

p.p.s ill start converting the jungle sets next weekend
