MR2 T bar Turbo, quick, clean and cheap.
Well i picked up my other cheap toy yesterday, and having now got it, I'm not sure I like it any more than the GTI-6 In fact although the GTi-6 is markedly slower I think I prefer the GTi-6 as a daily hack for me.
So I'm looking to sell the MR2 rather than my GTI-6 now, but in 2 minds so a little open minded about which one i keep.
confused.! I know I am. But basically I have a red toyota MR2 Turbo GT - 1990, very clean, genuine car, thats pulling about 1 bar boost circa 240-250bhp. Its the 'T' bar variety with removable roof, ABS, power steering, bailey DV, dual exhaust, receipt from Wellane and superhips fitment. Drives very nice and starts on the key and with that power in a light low car in RWD adds for a very fun drive.
Oh and it has undercar neons with remote controller with loads of functions - not my bag, but it came with the car.
101km, some service UK and JAP.
Only known faults i've found is the speedo mucks about and doesn't show the right speed. On the Rev1 turbo is a mechanical drive and having looked at it would either put my finger on the cable or the clocks where the cable goes into them. I put a drill direct to the clocks and they worked, I also put a drill on the cable at the gearbox end after removing it and it mucked about. So its defo the cable or the clocks.
Also the alternator belt has a slight squeak, but after a short run with no lights or fans on its goes quiet. I tried to tighten it, but didn't seem to make and diffence so needs a new belt IMO.
Front o/s fog broken/cracked.
It desperately needs 2 new front tyres, and the MOT is only until end of Feb. But having looked around the car closely above and below, I would be suprised if it needs nothing more than the 2 new tyres. Because I've only just got it I dont even have the new V5 yet.
Looking for £1600 ono for a quick sale.
