Bugeye Carbon Bonnet-Charity Auction
Right chaps here's the deal
Some time ago (approx 3 years) I sold and received payment for a bugeye carbon bonnet to a certain member on here, Midlife (Shaun) during this period of time Shaun was going to collect the said bonnet on many occasions but never quite made it
Shaun no longer needs the bonnet and has kindly offered it for sale with the proceeds to a worthy cause.
My proposal is, Mrs Oldfella (Enigma on here) is doing the Race for Life on the 31st May. The bonnet will go to the highest bidder and they will pay directly onto Enigma's, Race for Life sponsor page, and sort carriage/collection separately.
Bidding will close at Midnight on the 7th March.
I will take a pic later, cobwebs dust and all Cheers Shaun
Mike

As far as I know, it is made from carbon fibre. I am certainly no expert but I believe there are more than one way to produce an item from carbon.
As for weight, I don't really know, if you had asked two days ago, I had an ally bonnet here and I could have tried to weigh them both....somehow

Have a look on the underside of the bonnet and I'd guess the bracing arms are in a course weave GRP and it's just the actual bonnet surface that's laid in Carbon fibre
This is the typical way of making a "carbon bonnet"
..........if the whole underside is laid in carbon and only a few millimeters thick then maybe Prodrive might want it as a spare LOL
prodrive
cheers
