Default 485 ftlb classic-excellent spec and condition

Hi everyone, testing water to see what response i get.The car suffered a boost spike last week and pressure in cly 4 gone down to 125psi which leads to think block may have split Due to pipe on over boost solenoid blowing off
Car still sounds not to bad at all, sounds more tappetty and drives, even tho got recovery to bring car back.
Would anyone be interested in it as it is, as i have poured my heart and soul in to this car in such a short time, thats on top of what TurboDean did before my ownership.
Scoob has lots of tax and mot left.
Its a 2000 plate uk turbo w reg
It is in very good condition, and is an extremely capable car.https://www.scoobynet.com/garage.php
Prices, please dont be silly as i know roughly what its worth

Looks to be a decent spec, You might be better breaking it for a better return. The people that have done this lately have done extremely well and its all gone quite quickly.

Just a thought.

Forgot to say engine was on 70k before 2.5 went in and only done 4k since. Not much left standard on car at all.
Really not to fussed in selling if get no decent offers as been quoted circa £2500 to repair
Just feel like stuffing been knocked out of me, as iam sure all you lot who have suffered similar circumstances can agree with

Gutted for you Brad... I was there the day the new engine fired into life it was quite a build Andy did there be sad to see it broke, what about a compromise by dropping a standard engine in to at least get you back and running.

mate bite the bullet and get it fixed, you will kick yourself at a later date and regret selling up or breaking it. Cover it over for a couple of weeks and try not t think about it. You will with any luck get a new lease of life and fall for it all over again and then go and get it fixed. Best of luck

sorry to hear this, I would harvest a guess and say you have broken a ring gland on the piston.

It will sound tappety or a bit like Piston slap but will be down on compression. as the ring is still in tact You will still have some compression... I experienced this on a build for a customer.

would be worth repairing it... even if their is more wrong with it.. bite the bullet.

mate if it is ring land damage it wont cost anything like £2500 to repair
especialy if you can pull the engine out yourself. get it apart and take a look.

Finally engine out and cracked open and to our amazement all ok so far
Ring lands fine, block fine, pistons fine, heads fine slight bit of play in rod no 4 which was 125psi.
Area 52 sending to there workshop for strip down and second opinion with new bearings ect.
Strange thing tho that there was fair bit of water on block when took off, then noticed the arp's were all loose well 3-4 turns to get finger tight anyway. Head gasket ok tho Why cant things be straight forward??? Anyway so far so good i suppose.
Any ideas what tappetty noise could be then Big end???
Will all become clear soon i hope, anyway happy days again soon
