Default Marin Alpine trail many upgrades.

For sale is my 2006 Marin Alpine trail. I have had this bike from new and looked after it really well.
Back in the day before I was 10000 stone over weight I used it for regular charity rides and did a few Gorrick events.
I have upgraded the bike in almost every way, It has Fox vanilla R forks, Hope brakes, XT hubs, SRAM running gear. Hand built wheels, Hope head set. adjustable rear travel from 4" to 6" and a few spares to boot.

If you want to come and look at the bike and have a wizz around feel free, I am located in Farnham, Surrey and around most the time.
New the bike and all the parts are worth well in excess of £2000.
I understand the bike is a bit old now so I will take offer in the region of £500.

Cheers
Tim.

Thats the problem I have, Just dont have the time anymore and it seems a shame to have a bike like this sat in the garage.

The frame is a 17.5. I am 6'2" and its perfect, I use a slightly smaller frame as when its on 6" travel I use it like a free ride bike, a large frame is no good and down hill and trails for me.

Bargin, I've an earlier Alpine Trail and it really is a great bit of kit. I'm 6'0" and mine's a 15" frame so I agree with your statement about sizing, although I ride with an extra long seat post. I guess yours will fit someone from 5'10" and up.

Thanks for the offer, The only real reason I need to sell is for space, if it doesnt go soon I will break it.

I will keep it in mind, but I just did an ebay search on the forks and they seem to go for about £250 and the brakes for about £150 so I might just brake it TBH. Seems like the best way to get what the bikes worth.

ok, i just wish i had £500 to snap it up but engine rebuilds come first.

Again, if you decide to go down the easy option and get rid of the whole thing i could maybe go to £300

Good luck either way

Hi mate,
just so im clear with you..
i'm about 16 stone, 6ft 2". Was 13 stone not too long ago.. (ok about 2 yrs ago)
Would this bike take my weight? like really.

I have £295 cash ready, if its any good. I dont know anything about bikes.
I only know that when I was 13.. some ******* took my BMX which was worth (in 1992) about £150 and only gave me £25. Think I had a diamond back with some trick extras that bmx-sters worshipped but they shafted me..

Anyway... let me know if your interested. CASH WAITING.

This bike is easily worth £500 - actually I'd say a quite a bit more.

Tim, stick it on ebay with a sensible reserve - or alternatively; break it and put the parts on ebay - the frames would fetch quite a bit too. I reckon you get more than £500 if you did that.

Oh, and IMO it would take 16 stone with out any problems - unless you're into riding down the sides of mountains or very serious downhill as it's more a cross country bike.
