Question

harvey, I have a set of OEM ported headers and narrow bore aftermarket up-pipe... but only the very lip entrances have been rounded and smoothed.

Is 'proper' porting when you smooth the metal much further down into the neck by a few inches?

If so, then how much would you charge to 're-' port and polish my own supplied headers (and the up-pipe, if required too)?

I can post pics up if you want, so you can see what's been done already.

Porting headers to improve the gas flow is far more involved than just chamfering the lead in to the headers. The right entry and exit shape and dimensions need to be created and the uppipe needs to be matched to the header set and appropriate for the turbo/spec in use.
Without the headers and uppipe on the workbench it is impossible to say what is required or if the uppipe is the best design for the spec in use.
Send them to me and I can take a look and advise but but it is probably simpler/easier to start with a replacement set.
One mistake that I sometimes see is that the entry port from the head to header is openned out way beyond the actual head port diameter.

Yes, this is what Paul at Zen said to me on Friday too.

Daft, as the air would immediately stall as it hits the head's concentric, protruding-in lip.
