Yes the car came through Ireland (it has an Irish number plate). Not sure if its relevant but the plate also has the name of the garage who imported it.
I have a document from the Vehicle Inspectorate called a Ministers approval Certificate.
Also following the scare on Watchdog with imported cars I got the car checked out by Subaru (as suggested on the watchdog website) . They were able to verify that all the numbers on the car seemed correct and that the it's identity had not been messed around with.

Looks like a 4 to me... and a nice one at that. If you want opinions then I tend to agree with Mark. I have a v4 STi 4door that I would value around 12k but mine has been on track, slightly higher mileage and does have a few scratches but again has no history for its first 22k miles.
One question, why doesn't it have the 3 piece front splitter that I thought was std on type R 3/4's Maybe it was only on the v4s and this is a v3.... Got any other pictures? Interior, engine?
Mark - offer of lift still stands...

My 1997 version 3 TypeR had the front spoiler piece. Version 3 have the old dash, version 4's have the new dash (central rev counter).
My car had 145,000Km on the clock and full service history from new in the UK, i was always dubious about Mph conversions, but that was just me.
Sold it yesterday for a few grand less than this one.

OK - I'm gonna try it in Autotrader (probably put the price down a little).
As for V3 or V4, I am no expert but I was lead to believe it was a 4. I will get some photos of the interior if I get a chance.
But for now, the dash has blue dials (rev counter to the right) and the miles travelled is an old analogue job. It also has 555 seats and Red stitch trim Nardi steering wheel and gear ***.
