Hmm, won't tell you how much I sold mine for (but think much less). Something worth noting is a standard 1994 WRX is 240PS (237bhp) and not 270bhp. As the thread asks for opinions I'll give mine now... I don't know the mileage, but the car looks/sounds in good condition, £8k is MY96-97 money, expect trade bids little over £5k and retail on the BBS around £6k maybe a little more, but certainly not over £8k. I don't normally post in these threads as I don't want to knock the cars value, just some advice on price like was asked... Mail me if you want to know what I sold my L reg for or you'd like me to edit out the prices from this post...
I'd suggest a new thread with the details of the car and clearly marked '94WRX for sale' heading.
I hope you've not taken offence at anything I've said here, just some advice from someone who has just sold a similar car...

Polarbearit,
Thanks for your reply. I bought this car less than a year ago for £11,995 from Indy Car Sales. When I bought the car I did not know the price that WRX Impreza's were being sold for. Seems the price of these cars up near Aberdeen have a whole price system of their own. I have also spent around £2k on some good servicing, exhaust etc. The 270bhp comes from RR after full SS was fitted with a K&N panel. Although this is a mint example I expect to lose some money, but not £6k in less than a year. If this is the price my car is worth then I will keep it.
Cheers,
Steve.

Steve,
Fair enough. BHP is similar to mine with similar mods. Good luck selling the car it does look mint
Depreciation over the past 12-24 months has been pretty big on imprezas and I have to say that early WRX's are now so cheap I really thought about keeping mine as a 2nd car. Only stupid insurance (as it would be a second car and can't use existing no claims etc), persuaded me to sell.

just my thoughts coming..........
the car hasn't depreciated 6k in a year. You just paid well over the odds a year ago. 12k for a 94 was basically a rip off. Id' say the dealer doubled his money on this one
All depends if you need to sell or not. if you do 6k is better in the bank than 8k on the drive. But if you don't, it looks a decent car, I doubt it'll drop much more in price over the next year so hold on to it and enjoy driving it.

HHmmm.
I paid £12,500 for my 94/L WRX nearly 3 years ago.. and that was resoanbly priced then.. I sold in January for £7,150, with Magnex & HKS exhaust, Pipercross MY00 spiler, Cibies, Compomotive's (17") and it had 65k on the clock, with History, etc...
it's probably worth putting it up for about 7 ish and then you can take offers... The bubble for Scoobs burst last year.. and older WRX's should hit their limit soon..
IMHO - The dealer had a good day.. go back and see him with a bat or some description...

I was looking at Impreza's before buying my golf and went to Indy basically cos it was the closest place with a choice of them... I had £7k and was laughed away by them... Apprently they don't sell cars at that price...
But most of their cars were 92-94 WRX's and had I known about this site I would know that they were just way over priced and I would have kept looking and bought an Impreza. Instead I have my golf... boo hoo hoo!! Life is so unfair!

Not forgetting insurance - I would be interested in this car, but the insurance kills me. 28, 5 years NCD, company owner and they want £2,200 fc.
Gutted, as it looks in great nick. Would you PX?

I'd take the px offer.
Seems very good - the thing with dealers is they can advertise the cars for a lot more.
I'd say they'd put it up at 9995 and take 9k for it. also you never know how much they got the car your buying for, could still be making a mint! (esp, if the mark up is like Indy car sales )

I just bought a 93 WRX with 70k kms on the clock in very good nick for £4995 from a dealer with a years warranty chucked in, so you might be better off keeping yours. If you had to sell, you might want to grab the first 6k offer that came along (cos there might not be that many). Someone else recently advertised a 94 WRX on here at 5k and sold it pretty quickly.
Was talking to a guy who bought a 95 WRX 3 years ago for 17.5k. He got a bit depressed when I told him its likely worth now.
If you havent tried the autotrader yet, do. This forum doesnt seem to be much cop for selling scoobs unless they are dirt cheap.
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news. Good luck with the sale, whichever way it goes.

Thanks for all your replies. Just about to buy a Audi 2.5 tdi Advant. The dealer has offered me £8.5k, which I am very pleased about. However he has said if I came in with cash he would knock another £1k off the Audi. So the first offer of £8250 and the car is sold. I know it may seem alot, but this car is mint condition and very well looked after (zymoled 4 times since I bought it!). If anyone fancies it drop me an email, it must go to a good home only!
PS. Timing belt service has been done.
Cheers, Steve.
