Default JDM EP3 Civic Type R for sale

£8500 ovno

For sale, my 2002 JDM civic Type R. Some say I am making a mistake by selling it, only time will tell!

First registered 1/1/02 and imported in to the UK on 5/6/2007.

The car was imported by the highly reputed import company 200bhp cars (200bhp cars.com) and is a great example of this sought after version of the Civic Type R EP3

The JDM (Japanese domestic market) has many advantages over the UK Civic Type R variant- See below.

The engine has an uprated 215bhp engine containing uprated springs, valves, pistons. It has
different gear ratios and ECU mapping, along with a different intake and exhaust manifold as well as an LSD (limited slip diff) as standard.

Aesthetically the JDM car also has extremely comfortable and supportive red Recaro seats, leather 3 spoke steering wheel by MOMO, red carpets, UK emblem, privacy glass on the rear windows, HID headlights, These particular civics also have a stiffer rear anti-roll bar. Brake calipers are also emblazoned with 'Type R' emblems.

Climate control and electric folding mirrors are also standard on JDM examples. Something the UK cars do not get.

I am the second UK owner since import, the first being a Honda enthusiast like myself.

The car has been maintained to a meticulous standard and given regular washes and waxing using only meguirs products.

Tax 30/11/09 - it is worth noting that this car is one of the few imports that has not been stung by the new tax legislation.
6 months tax costs £112 and approx £200 for the year.

Mot expiry 30/5/2010

Bodywork :

There are no door dents, dings of any kind.

The wheels are unkerbed and immaculate (poorboys wheel sealant) and the tyres (good year eagles) all have 4-5mm of tread left.

I have a stack of paperwork to go with the car, import documents, two sets of keys, service history both Japanese and UK, the car was looked after by TGM motor sports in Fleet during my ownership.

I was given no advisories on the MOT and the inspector commented on how clean the car was. It has been under sealed underneath.

The car drives beautifully with no 'funny' noises' the engine is always warmed up sufficiently before VTEC is engaged, it has had a recent oil change using fully synth Silkolene Pro S 5W40 oil.

Extras :

Honda accessories -

The car comes with optional front fog lights (however sadly one is cracked but it still works fine)

Also fitted with JDM Wind deflectors

After market/performance extras to the car include -

Spoon sports progressive springs; these spring were fitted to optimize the already superb handling, I had Eibach adjustable camber arms and front bolts fitted and a fast road set up was carried out. This work was done by TGM in fleet (Type R/Honda specialists - car sits slightly lower now and really does handle like it is on rail tracks!

Energy suspension mounts (upgraded engine mounts which prevent wheel hop)

The car comes with a Mugen front grill, I am unsure if this came on from Japan or if the previous owner fitted it, either way it looks great!

Cam cover is finished in blue, this was done professionally and looks superb, something a bit different from the norm.

Honda S2000 starter button. I don't really use it but it is there and functioning fine.

Alpine CD player with Ipod connection (glove box)

Grooved brake discs and uprated brake pads.

The car is fitted with a Cat 1 cobra alarm/immobiliser and all documents are present for that.

I have owned a UK civic Type R and Integra DC5 in the past and this one is by far the best I have owned, it is the ultimate Civic Type R.

Any questions please do not hesitate to ask.

I am not interested in a P/X with a saxo/corsa or anything like that so please do not waste my time or yours. I simply wont reply.

I am selling to buy an Impreza sti (2003-2005)

I will require proof of insurance before any test drives are taken, no tyre kickers/test pilots/canvassers/dreamers need apply.

I am in the armed forces and I am off work for a week, beginning Monday the 17th of August, so the car will be available for viewing then.

I'm looking for £8500 (or VERY nearest offer) for the car considering the current Japanese exchange rate and the rarity of this car I think this is an extremely reasonable price you wont find a better JDM than this example.

I am pretty confident in saying that if you are in the market for a civic Type R, JDM/UK then the first to see will buy

Looking at going AWD boost (Evo 8/Sti) so if anyone is looking for a change.. pm me.
