Default thinking of selling 2005 wrx

hi all, thinking of selling up my wrx 2005.here's the details.first of all it's a cat d,it happened 2 years ago last june, front end it got hit by a seat ibiza, fully repaired to high standard,on the engine side the wrx bottom end was knocking and a sti version 7 shortblock was fitted by scooby teknix, with new t belt, plugs, all filter's, oil, mounts, last april,£2200 cost,4k mile ago.the car is mint, with 34k on the clock.sti boot spoiler, sti 2003 wheels and a cobra back box.other than that the car is standard.the big question is though how much should this scooby be up for?

ok,the cat d is the lowest of the damage category, officially, the insurance did not decide to repair, though the the repair did not exceed the value of the car,and is repairable,i.e the bumper ,wing, bonnet.headlight and rad.all cosmetic.this car is going to go cheap,it does not drive sideways,or look's out of shape at all,its all spot on.i wouldn't have bought it if i thought it was out of shape in any way.i knew it was cat d,i had it cheap, and it's a very good car in all aspects.i just want to sell it now for something a bit faster.

Up to you what you think is a fair price but cat 'D' cars usually valued at 30-40% less than a non 'listed' car.

Only my opinion but I would think £5000-£5500 ish ?

A lot of people turn their noses up at Cat C/D i know i do and i work with the buggers all day. I personally wouldnt touch a Cat D unless it was uber cheap and i could break it and still make.

Do you find your insurance is slightly higher as well with it having a claim against it? Its just another reason why they are not really worth anymore.

i have nothing against cat d/c cars what so ever as long as i repair it myself, people turn there noses up at them because they cant be sure it was repaired correctly, insurance premiums are no more than a normal non registered but if it gets bumped again they may not pay you out as much as its worth! as for the value its only worth what someone will pay you for it and 7k it wont be regardless of mods or service history.

ummm thats strange, I got quoted an extra few quid on a cat D clio 172, i ended up picking up a straight one for a lot less that it would of cost for me to get that on the road and paid £100 less on the insurance with the same company that quoted for a cat D.

That was a dead easy rear quarter and light fix
