Default FOR SALE :: STi Version 4 Type RA

My car for sale...

Essentially the car now comes fitted with a set of Harvey-ported headers, H&S 3" downpipe, Revolution 3" system, RCMS oil pump and a Walbro fuel pump. It's being sold on 17" Speedline GT1's with good Goodyear Eagle F1 GSD3 tyres fitted. A pair of newly reconditioned (by Ian Godney) 4-pots have just been fitted up front along with a new pair of his grooved discs and DS2500 pads, this is in addition to the 4x braided lines which were on the car before i bought it.

The Momo Model 80 steering wheel is still fitted although the original Momo wheel comes with the car. A facelift bumper is also fitted although, again, the original item can be sold with the car if desired.

The car still drives fantastically, tbh i'd forgotten how good it was straight out of the box! The Harvey-headers reduce spool time, the Revolution exhaust makes it sound good while the RCMS oil and Walbro fuel pumps offer added peace of mind.

Here's the blurb from the Pistonheads ad as well as the good / bad pics....

MY98 STi Version 4 Type RA

A nice example of a rare Subaru Impreza WRX STi Version 4 Type RA. This is the lightweight version of the standard STi, as such it comes without electric windows, central locking and side skirts. Type RA specification sees that the car is fitted with a roof vent, DCCD (driver controlled centre differential) and intercooler water spray in addition to the standard STi Specification parts such as an ally bonnet and ally bottom arms etc. Being a Version 4 model this car also has the R180 rear diff setup which includes the desireable 2-pot rear calipers.

GOOD POINTS
Low mileage, only three previous owners (i'm the fourth).
Godspeed Reconditioned 4-Pot Front Brake Calipers just fitted, Godspeed grooved discs & DS2500 pads also fitted all-round.
Revolution 3" Exhaust system fitted with Hayward & Scott downpipe and Harvey Smith ported headers.

BAD POINTS
The car is 11 years old now so the condition of the bodywork is not perfect. There is a small patch of corrosion on leading edge of the aluminium bonnet, some small car-park dings in rear doors, a small ding in O/S sill and some small signs of corrosion around the rear arches. There's also the usual flakey STi inlet manifold.

THE CAR
The car was imported in 2000 by Park Lane, i bought it in February 2006 and became the cars fourth owner. It has covered around 12,000 miles during my period of ownership, bringing the total to a little under 70,000 miles (the odometer and speedo were recalibrated to read in miles rather than km). The car has MOT and Tax until February 2010.

ENGINE
This is the standard STi Version 4 unit and is original to the car. It comes fitted with Harvey Smith ported headers (reduces turbo spool time), a Hayward & Scott downpipe and a Revolution 3" exhaust. The exhaust gives the car a purposeful note without being too obnoxious! There is also a Roger Clark Motorpsort oil pump and a Walbro 255 fuel pump fitted.

BRAKES
The front setup is brand new and comprises of a pair of reconditioned Subaru front 4-pot calipers, Godspeed grooved discs and DS2500 pads. The rear setup also has Godspeed grooved discs and DS2500 pads installed. Braided brake hoses are also fitted all-round.

WHEELS / TYRES
The car is being sold on a set of 17" Speedline GT1 wheels have been powdercoated in white. One wheel has suffered a small scrape but all four come with the proper Speedline wheel nuts and new Speedline centre caps. Tyres are Goodyear Eagle F1's in good condition, not the Toyo R888's shown in the pictures.

EXTERIOR / INTERIOR
A facelift front bumper is fitted to the car although the original front bumper is also available. A tasteful Momo Model 80 steering wheel has also been fitted.

Corrosion on bonnet.

Marked wheel and recondition brake caliper(s), new grooved discs.

The worst of the rear door dings.

Sill ding.

Rear arches...

£4000 ono

Got another lined up Carl, or getting out of the Impreza game altogether?

I want one of these but they aren't exactly thick on the ground, especially in Spec C form.
