Default Turbosmart Manual Boost Controller

Have for sale a Turbosmart Manual Boost controller. was removed from a 2000 UK Turbo

Heres some info..

A Turbosmart GBCV will allow boost pressure to be adjusted above the standard setting To avoid using un-reliable methods of increasing Boost, such as shortening the actuator rod. This causes spring bind in the actuator and restricts flow through the wastegate. It avoids having to replace wastegate springs, which only give a fixed increase, which is not adjustable.

Why choose a Turbosmart GBCV?
All our GBCV's feature the Gated System - unique to Turbosmart. This delays the pressure signal from entering the wastegate, which inturn spools up the turbo faster, resulting in more boost at lower RPM. Setting the desired boost pressure is made easy. Simply adjust the Boost Dial on the top of the unit, without the need for any tools. Turbosmart Boost controllers are capable of increasing boost pressure to the threshold of your turbos capacity. All Turbosmart GBCV's can be locked to prevent tampering All Turbosmart GBCV's come with comprehensive This controller comes in a black finish, a true undercover look.

Hi Chazzy,

I have a VF34 on my version 3 type R. What exactly can this boost controller do for me if i'm already getting 1.2/1.3 bar boost?
And can it help reduce surge or is that totally unrelated to this?

Thanks,
Imran

u should be able to run it(if setup properly with boost gauge) at a steady 1.5/1.6 bar.

With the gate on this it should help reduce surge and give a smoother power curve from lower down!

I cant run more than 1.3 bar boost as being a standard version 3 ecu and map sensor the limit is 1.3 bar after which it will hit fuel cut.
Will this however be effective in reducing the compressor surge i have in 4th & 5th gear?

Cheers,
Imran
