Default 2.1 stroker classic

I am in no rush to sell and i do not really know if i want to sell, but another car has caught my eye so I thought i would see what people on here think.

I have owned this car for over 3 years now, when i first got it, it was almost standard.

it has been an expensive time from then onwards.

it is running just under 400 bhp and 360 lbft

The engine has covered only a few K miles and the car is on 76k (need to check to be sure)

it was imported from new and i have soooo much parper work and bills for it.

At the start of the year it got keyed and a week later i had a small bump in moving traffic. The repairs were fixed at a garage that i chose, know and trust rather than going to any monkey that the insurance wanted me to go to.

I had a full respray and they done a fantastic job.

A week or so after having the car back from the body shop, my bottom end went

so the saving started again, and then i had a forged build with engine tuner.

So for me this year has been very expensive.

here are the mods that i can remember

EngineTuner forged 2.1 stroker engine
This was a drive in and drive out build, Alan and his team did all the work including mapping

-Forged rods
-Forged pistons
-Cosworth head gaskets
-Cosworth bearings
-RCM oil pump
-2.5 crank
-APR head studs
-there were other new bits used in thw build like water pump cam iderlers etc

-Apexi power fc ecu
-Apexi power fc commander
-Apexi avcr boost controler (black version)
-Mapped my Martyn at enginetuner

-APS cold ait induction kit (in the wing) with a big K&N filter

-Full Titanium center section and back box, this can be held with ease. it weights just over 4kg!!
-3” decat bell mouth down pipe with heat wrap
-GT-Spec 2 stainless headers
-Lots of heat wrap

-Andy Forrest TD05 20G turbo
-Zen Performance 740cc injectors
-Hybrid Front mount intercooler with powder coated pipe work (harvey Smith)
-Go faster bits underdrive light weight pullys

-Aeromotive fpr with gauge
-255 fuel pump
-Magnacore HT leads

-Vta bov
-Custom oil catch can
-Knock link sensor in custom mounting

-Samco turbo inlet hose
-Samco air box hose
-Samco other hoses
-Stainless steel rad pannet cover
-Stainless steel fuse box cover
-lots of powder coated bits in the engine bay
-(header tank, pas tank, fmic pipes etc)

-AP Racing Organic clutch
-ATC Prolite billet flywheel (4.3kg)

-Godspeed 335mm big brake kit
-Godridge stainless hoses
-new fully refurbed calipers at godspeed this month
-grooved and drilled rear dics with red stuff pads

-Works Emotions alloys (17'') with yoko prada spec 2 tyres all round
-Apex inverted coilovers with 5/4 springs
these were profsional set up and corner weights were uses
-STi pedals
-carbon strut brace

-Seibon carbon bonnet with blended in edges
-Holeless from new boot with m3 lip spoiler
-rear window tints
-cristal lights
-air vent fog cover

-Defi boost, oil temp, oil pressure and control box (52mm)
-dash top pod the the gauges

there are some other bits that i have forgotten i think.

some pics and info can be found here
https://www.scoobynet.com/projects-4...ry-so-far.html

as for a price i would say offers over £8500 by going what others have been selling for

thanks
ian

Nooo, Ian, don't sell it!

This is a really well-kept car and, as a practical fast road machine, the classic scoob doesn't come any better than this. The 20G suits the 2.1 motor and STi gearing really well, very driveable. Last year I bought an STi6 RA Limited looking to put together the best classic I could, without losing usability, but this one is better by some margin.

So, what other car has caught your eye Ian?

cheers
Andy

Hi andy, there is a nice r32 that i have seen that i like, but the think putting me off is how pratical it will be with the baby seat in the back etc.

so far the scoob ticks all the boxs, maybe i need to save for a bigger turbo

Steve, the lip spoiler didnt nead any work at all, right size etc.

i would say it is best to use tiger seal to hold it on
