Default HELP WANTED.

can anyone help me. i've got a v4 wrx type r v-limited wrc which has had a 2.5 engine fitted. it has forged internals with acl race bearings roger clark oil pump and v4 sti heads and a vf22 turbo. when i first start the car the hydraulic tappets are really noisey and after about 10 minutes it clears does anyone know how i can stop this or is there something i can put in the oil to treat. any help would be much appreciated. thanks dean

have you checked the oil level if thats ok it prob will be the shims that are worn this would account for the noise stopping when it gets hot

yes i checked the oil level and its fine. do you know where i would be able to buy some new shims?

you can buy from any main dealer. They are kinda pricey however...

i got a friend with a forged 2.5 that is also noisey
he was told by the builder that it was the factit was fully forged
i'll buy it if u don't want it lol

Version 4 heads dont have hydraulic tappets. Probably forged piston knock.
