8:1 Petrol 4WD racing car
#1
I have an 8:1 scale racing porsche with a brand new performance engine and an electric starter box.
In all worth over £1'000
It is already built, needs finishing (fuel lines, servo's ect) does not include Controller and servo's
the shell is a Porsche painted blue.
Never been used.
I am looking for £700.00 the lot.
If anyones interested let me know and I will post some more details.
It needs a good home.

Its an Italian made kit.
The maker is Mantua Model. Rally Race 4WD 1:8 Rally Racing Car.
The kit is barely used. I picked it up from someone who owed me a lot of money but gave me the car instead. He has a lot of cars includeing a much bigger one with indipendant disc brakes (I bet it goes like a rocket)
I can see that it looks unused. Even the tyres still have the bit of rubber where they come out of the mould. It has certainly never been raced.
The engine is Brand new and has never been run.
Its a Novarossi 6/SN 3,5cc 2hp Nitro / Methanol engine.
I am assured by the guy that all this kit cost him over £1000.
My debt was £700.00
I have an old electric RC car that I am scrapping and will fit the servo's from that and use that controller.
I visited a Model shop for advice because it needs a few bits and pieces to finish it off (Fuel pipes, Glow plug heater, Battery pack and a few grub screws and bits and pieces) all of which are available for about another £50.00
I started off expecting to sell this Kit quickly because it is so new and will be very fast when it is finished but not had much luck so far. So I will be looking for the best reasonable offers.
So its
Car (Almost complete)
Engine (Brand new performance engine)
Controller and servo's (Second hand but will do the job)
Just needs a few bits and pieces to finish it off.
Make me an offer I cant refuse.....Please.
(I dont want to sound desperate in this post but the cash is to pay for some mods I am getting done to the car, and the wife aint to pleased about the size of our credit card bill.....)

Astro,
I have also got a r/c car from Mantua, and I can confirm that these cars are simply awesome. The fact that you can choose the engine, to go with your chassis, etc... means that you can easily get a car that suits your needs.
The shop (based in Windsor) also hold a lot of spares, so should anybody need them they do not have to wait an eternity for them. The chap who runs the shop (Richard) is also very knowledgable about things, and will always help in anyway.
This is definitely one of the cars to choose if somebody is serious about r/c cars.

Hi Scott.
Thanks for that, I dont know much about model cars but the guy who I got it from said basically the same thing. I am glad to hear from you.
I went into my local model shop for some advice and found them very helpfull, they basically said bring the car in and they will put together all the bits I need to get it running. I was concerned because a few bits of plastic and grub screws were missing, but they have loads of bits for pennies.
Do you know if I was given the right information when I was told this lot cost over £1000.
I have checked the internet and cant find much. I fount the Novarossi engines for sale but only the 2.1cc. They were going for about £140.00 Would the 3,5cc (2 steps up) be that much more expensive? I was told its worth about £500.00. That sounds like a big leap to me.

Hi Astro,
I know my kit cost me over £600 for the car, servo's, electric starter, fuel, etc... However, I think £1000 might be a bit OTT , as the car kits alone are between £200-400 and that's before the engine, etc... get fitted. The engine will be a .21 that will put out around 3½ bhp, and be around the price you mentioned, which is where your confusion might lie.
However, you should make an "enquiry" to Mantua Models (Based in Windsor) and say that you are after X,Y, and Z, and see how much they would cost new straight from them.
