TVR Chimera MINT.! £7500 ono may PX.
TVR Chimera 400, Rebuilt Engine, Respray, New Hood superb.!
My pride and joy and toy is reluctantly up for sale. It took 2 years of on and off searching to find this example
This is a truly superb example of a 1996 Chimera or any chimera of any age for that matter, and by far the best I could find. This really is a cut above the rest out there in my opinion. This has the power steering.
Its covered 71K miles and had a complete engine rebuilt about 9K miles ago by a TVR specialist at a cost of over 6K, which amongst other things included ported and polished heads, ECU and remap and certainly goes well as a result.
Its also benefited from the Tuscan front light conversion, and a complete respray to insure colour match and very, very clean as a result and you would struggle to find even a stone chip on it. Its also have a new roof which would of otherwise been a little tired by now. All the alloys are unmarked and have nearly new tyres all round. HPI clear and free from any accidents.
As well as the engine, bodywork, hood, its all got a very clean waxoiled chassis and leagues better than any of the others I looked at.
This car was purchased from Fenhurst in 2004 for 15K, and that was before all the money got spent on engine, respray, hood etc, and has a full TVR Service history up until 54K miles. Since then I have a host of receipts and bills for work done including such items as 4 new wishbones, 4 wheel geometry setup.
This car has also benefited from an large uprated alloy radiator to keep then car cool, and starts on the key hot or cold first time everytime.
10 months MOT and TAX.
If your in the market from a Chimera then I genuinely doubt you will get much better than this example and I say that even if you had a larger budget. I will be sorry to see if go but needs must.
This is a great way of getting into TVR's the engine is basically a tuned and bullet proof landrover V8 engine, and most of the parts are ford. Its very low tech engineering, but as such is a tinkerers dream and easy to self maintaine and service.
New price £7500 ono.... Getting on for depreciation proof how cheap can a 2 seater proper sports car get.!
May PX a scoob, but price needs to be realistic/cheap.!
