Question UK97 300bhp / 300lb possible donor car / for someone to break **SOLD**

Up for sale complete as i've not got the time i wanted to be able to break it myself. So if you've got time or are bored make me an offer . I'm based in Tameside near Manchester (just off the m60).

Impact was caused by someone behind me losing it on the motorway, sailed along side me on the hard shoulder (i was lane 1), he hit the crash barriers which pinged him out into my side. Happy to walk away from it as it was rush hour, wet and dark night so was expecting the worst after the impact. Gone through insurance and it's a total loss so cat C.

Two known issues before the accident, needed a new MAF which i was in the process of getting (had a misfire) and the seals on both sides of the engine need replacing.

Overall condition is average, some small spots of rust, plenty of scrapes / dents (supermarket parking for you) + the damage from the accident now.

Pics to follow.

I was hoping for the best price above £600 but i don't know how realistic that is complete. When i hoping to breaking it that was my figure in mind + what ever i could get on top e.g.

£200 for Apexi & HC
£300 for the headers, up pipe through to exhaust
£100 for turbo
£80 rims & rubber

Spent £170 on a replacement turbo induction hose only a few weeks before it got totalled (invoice to prove).

I'll get some engine bay shots up tomorrow (it'll be pitch black when i get home later), totally forgot this morning when i took these.

I've been inundated with PM's and i'll reply to each one in turn (probably tomorrow morning now, Xmas meal tonight woohoo).

Just to be clear, i'm not breaking the car tho! I did intend to because i'll recoup more of the many 1000's spent on it but i've just not the time and want rid. It needs to go complete for the best offer i get over £600, that's the car, two spare boot lids, the original head lights, gear / handbrake gaters, two unused lower springs, original ecu and anything else i can find Scooby related if you want it (probably original turbo, maybe some headers as well as i bought an extra set which i sent to Harvey to port / polish so i wasn't without a car).

It 'runs' but misfires like hell and will need a replacement maf. Checking the apex with the assistance / advice from SN techies the voltage on the maf is all over the place when it does it, my garage reckon if my soldering skills were up to it reworking the connector would cure it as simply cable tying that up helped, they reckon a dry join within the connector itself.

I'll post some engine bay shots up tomorrow in good light and the original RR results. I've probably still got the video and pictures taken @ TEG (or more to the point the RR workshop at the back where Steve works from) somewhere.

Cambelt done 2/9/8 and last service was 1/6/9, grooved front disks and kevlar pad from godspeed (invoice dated 27/5) fitted at last service so about 2k done on them.

Can this be clearer please - are we making an offer for the complete car including or excluding the apexi, turbo, exhaust & rims?

Is this going to sealed bids, is there an end date for the auction or is it going on ebay ?

As per the photo the spares dug out which will go in the boot unless you don't want them are:

2 x white boot lids (no spoilers on either)
original turbo
original headers
original turbo uppipe
original ecu
original head lights
original housing for the converted td05 turbo
original gear / handbrake gaitors
original turbo to ic pipework
original drop links front and back
original pulleys
new fuel filter
new oil filter
new sump washer
two brand new lowering springs, two that came off the car.

I dropped a b@@@@@@k with the springs. I got told the existing eibach's might replacing when i replaced the front struts (the new struts came of a fresh import jap car like new). I got all credit card happy and bought some from camskill. When the struts were replaced i didn't need to replace the springs after all, so they stuck the new front ones on and left the rears as is. This is why i've got the springs still.

Sorry if it wasn’t clear. Whoever buys it gets the car complete, everything attached and all the spare i have (see photos / text below this post).

The car will be available from next weekend, all being well (works made busy at the mo so i’m all over the place) from Friday 11th at a mutually suitable time / day to be discussed (week days would have to be pre 8:30am or after 6:30pm).

The car was running prior to the accident but was misfiring badly at times (due to maf i believe after extensive testing, had a replacement lined up for £40 from fleabay and then fate decided a megane should rearrange the ns of my car) and i knew i’d have to have the rocker cover seals done again. I had them done but the garage said the new seals weren’t 100% and didn’t sit proud enough (i sourced and supplied them, not the garages fault). I’m selling as a donor car / spares only, i’m not a mechanic (i work in IT) so i’m offering it as is, buyer beware and all that (just being honest here) and make no warranty in relation to the condition, usability or safety of the car (i’ve got to put that in case some muppet turns up and says hang there a dent in the side...). If someone has the time i don’t to spend stripping it and use the bits they want and possibly still make a few quid then fair enough, i just want rid. I spent a long time finding the right Scooby (12months+), 3 years ago i flew to Aberdeen to pick the car up after paying for the vendor to bring it over on the night ferry from Orkney where it was based. I then set about getting it to my exact spec which i poured many 1000’s into doing. The garage that looked after the car since bring it back to Manchester said of the fastest cars they worked on regular it was between mine and an RS4 and for the biggest grin factor. Mine won out because in their own words “it’s mental” and the RS4 was too refined for there tastes. You’ll perhaps understand now why i’m sick of the sight of it ever time i open my front door and get into my diesel mondy that replaced it... I just want rid.

Open / close prices in the sense of anyone can name a price in this thread openly, but those who chose to pm me with the price i’ll respect that privacy and it won’t be made public. Person who first offers the best price come the end of Wed gets the car which should give them enough time to plan to pick it up (hopefully from the Fri, but we’ll arrange the details to suit both). My choice how i’m selling the car.

Insurance company has the v5 and MOT as they classed it as a CAT C, total loss (i undervalued the car with them, and i won’t ever do that again so save a couple of quid on the yearly premium, lesson learnt even if painful way to learn it). I took photo copies of the top of both docs before i sent them. V5c shows me as the keeper, previous one from Stromness KW16. The invoices and receipts i’m happy for the buyer to go through and check but i’m keeping them to shred, besides the RR results which you can have. My name, account details for companies, credit card slips etc are all in there and for my privacy i’m retaining them. If that’s an issue no problems but i’m not budging on this.

I’ll clear my inbox as soon as i’ve replied to all (25 pm limit isn’t alot ). Any questions ask away, probably best in the thread tho.

Probably forgot stuff so if i’ve missed any obvious please point it out!
