Bad bits:

Mechanical

speedo doesnt work (something to do with the conversion from auto to manual box)

Uses oil ( 500-1000ml per 1000miles )

Bodywork:

No resprays since 1999
ding in the rear passenger door, scratches on the rear spoiler, scratches on the rear bumper
damaged front lip , fixed and resprayed but is starting to crack again.
a year ago had someone drive into passenger side wing which had to be replaced and because its hard to color-match silver,
under direct sunlight the difference can be seen.

Otherwise the car is absolutely amazing, drives like a dream and fast as ****.

The only reason im selling is that i have moved from UK and cant take the car with me due to high customs

I wont take any part exchanges except for a left hand drive

I understand its pretty much impossible to sell a car like that and i really need to let it go - i will negotiate, but because i know how awesome this car is, i wont let it go for peanuts.

So offers please.

LHD image is mirrored, sorry for the confusion. The car is right hand drive.

Im not in UK now, but i have someone interested in the car and might fly in very soon to arrange a viewing. So if anyone else is interested in it at anything above 8000, please let me know and we can work something out.

Still for sale!

Apart from all the usual stuff, it has a built into the dash knocklink sensor, custom fitted and trimmed 5x ac invision black face, matching gauges ( oil temp, oil pressure, water temp, boost pressure, air/fuel ), blitz FATII turbo timer with built in electronic boost gauge, profesionally made leather trim with stitching on all pillars, glovebox and dash facias, pounds of dynamat extreme on all the doors, double layer on the floor, and the boot are all sound proofed, the car is mentally quiet inside!

It also has a seriously amazing quality profesionally set up stereo system to go with that sound proofing

2009 DNX 8220 BT headunit with Ipod connector, its pretty much brand new and works like a dream
http://www.kenwood-electronics.co.uk...dia/DNX8220BT/

Also got 6" hybrid ovation morel speakers (MT-12 4x tweeters + 4x woofers 2x crossovers) with insanely good quality
http://www.morelhifi.com/products/mob_2way_hybrid.html

10" alpine 1000 watt subwoofer with a custom enclosure,

And 2x expensive DLS amplifiers,
DLS CA40 = 4x channel 400 watt speaker amp,
DLS CAD1000 = 1 channel 1000 watt ( maybe 1000 ) subwoofer amp

Here's a video of me driving you can use to assess the quality of the music, turn it up and see if you can hear any engine noise - and thats with me driving up to 8000 revs on a 500 bhp car with a 3" catless exhaust that is loud as ****! The music wasnt especially set to loud either its playing on average volume, http://s282.photobucket.com/albums/k...t=MVI_0815.flv

The car also has a swirl pot with bosch 044 motorsport pump and external fuel filter installed ( all properly done by subaru4you ) in the spare wheel space of the boot, as my 500 bhp + engine used to starve for fuel at higher revs with one Walbro 255 lph pump in the tank

I also have no problems with taking the engine, ecu and gearbox and brakes and even the stereo with me to leave free space for your own project!

Or i can take only the engine out, and leave everything else intact, just a free space for an engine - can anyone be more flexible ?

http://s282.photobucket.com/albums/k...t=MVI_0815.flv

Also i'm sorry guys but the only reason im selling is because i relocated to another country so i really dont need any part exchanges

Serega, l had a guy on the phone who told me he'd bought he car about 6 or 7 months ago. Was that not true then ? He said he was driving it and that he wanted us to take a look at a few things.

I cannot understand how a car like this is still unsold with all that good kit on it.

Good Luck.

There was a guy who wanted to buy it, he came around we drove around, said he liked the car and everything but was worried about the speedo not working and how he could not confirm the mileage.

I told him not to worry about it and directed him to API as maybe you could fix it for him but that you wouldnt do it for me personally because of our disagreements..he called me later to tell me that he spoke to David at API who told him that the speedo cant be fixed and that was that.

So after trying to sell it for a few more months after that with no bites at all i decided it's just easier for me to split it and sell it without the box and the engine as it pretty much takes care about the speedo problem.

So Im going to keep the engine for myself as in all honesty its a piece of art and there's no way im going to sell it to some bargain hunter. The gearbox should sell for itself as its such a high demand item.
Selling the shell is a bit of ******* but i have a few parties interested and im hoping it will sell this week.

But for the moment the car is still complete, so if anyone wants to snap it up in the last minute, might be your last chance. However, personally i'd rather sell it without the engine and the motec m800.

Not won't, Can't.

The electric signal from the sender on a 6 speed box is a square wave form and the speedo head for the Legacy accepts regular curvy wave form.

Cleverer people than me advise that square cannot be converted to curvy.

That's the size of it.

Strange that such a powerful car has not yet sold I can only think that peeps are worried about the bits that don't work + that the OP is no longer UK based ...

Perhaps if David lets us know what he thinks about a car he built?

David, do you by any chance remember which drive shafts and prop shaft you used to make the gearbox work ? Are those in any way specific ?

Im pretty sure if there were interested people, David would have gotten a few calls from them as the car is advertised as built by API.
Forget the car, i cant even sell a refurbed sti 9 gearbox that i bought from API 2 years ago and i dont think i even covered 10,000 miles

The prop was lengthened if I recall, to suit the Legacy floorplan. Driveshafts are 6 speed ones as supplied with the box. Long time ago now.

As for the car in general; this is a seriously good bit of kit and was specced to make 500 plus hp on pump fuel.

There was no expense spared on the conversion. The swirl pot and so on in the boot are not APi work, but a later addition by Len.

It would make someone a stunning road car.
