i'm thinking if the cam belt has been taken the chassis is f***ed hence my £700 offer but i will stretch to £850 without tax and not bothered what state the chassis is in. someone has just listed a r reg wagon with knocking engine on ebay for £695 buy it now which would work out a lot cheaper fix than this one.

scoobydoo_done_u, you txt me car was worth £1200 and on the forum you say £700 is a good offer???!!!!
The quotes i got are genuine: £600 rebuilt head, £700 to get front end fixed = £1300
If sum1 gets the car for £1200, they can have a beast on the road for £2500. Thats at least £1000 cheaper than others I've seen and who knows whats wrong with them.
Anyway, car should be up on ph's today and ebay soon...will be patient...worst case I will get the car fixed and put it up for £3500...

£2-3k for a rebuild fella so you'll need to take that off the un-damaged price ... £1200 seems OK though?

just looked at this on pistonheads. my thoughts were right it is f***ed needs a whole corner putting in fair play if you get £1500 for it. as far as i can see needs bonnet, bumper, lights, rads, engine and a new drivers side inner flitch.

Joey Turbo, car is not recorded as I hit a wall, insured 3rd party, no one else involved
Body damage looks worse than it is...thats what Ive been told by somebody who repairs jap cars...he had the parts to repair and quoted me £700 all in...(doesnt need a new bumper, rad don't leak)
Impact damaged drivers side timing belt pulley, this has ruined the head. Got a quote from somebody who specialises in subarus and he quoted me £600 to fix. Somebody else quoted me £200 for replacement head plus fitting.
Obviously, I want to recoup as much money as I can but people are offering me £500 for the car incl wheels...Surely if someone bought it for £1000 to break they would get their money back in no time...but car is fixable for £1500...so I don't think £1200 is asking too much...we'll see

sorry to ad insult to injury, but you will never get £1200 for a w reg uk classic with a twisted chassis and a scrap engine and possibly listed, unless you didnt no, its christmas and we are still in a credit crunch so personally i think you should take your highest offer, otherwise it looks like you are going to be stuck with a rusting piece of metal depreciating day by day.

ps, i am retracting my offer of £800 due to twisted chassis

anything over £500 i would take if i was you

andyscoobym3, the car is NOT recorded because I didn't make a claim. If sum1 got the car for £500 they'd be quids in!
the wheels and tyres are worth £300,
the prodrive ECU, centre and rear exhaust, quickshift and intercooler piping together £200 (at least). Thats £500...break even...
Gearbox £150,
4 doors incl galss & window motors £200,
front calipers (perfect)/discs (new)/brake pads (new) £150,
alternator £25,
starter motor £25,
interior (excellent) £100
Total = £1200
Then theres other salvagable parts: turbo, suspension, intercooler etc

deany76, meet me half way and its yours. £1000 incl wheels (no tax, no stereo). If you need parts to fix it I will introduce you to the person who quoted me £700 to repair the body damage. Car also has tracker fitted with cert.

definatly would need chassis leg section welding in along with a flitch, i would also imagine other leg has moved across as the reinforcers tend to push them over

tk09, thnx 4 ur advice. Ur 100% right but I just don't have the time or know-how.

deany76, £1000 is fair, I've moved alot on price, you only need to move a little. For £1100 i'll throw in £150 worth of road tax. I'm sure you'll make a good profit on the car if you buy it...

I certainly wouldnt pay a 1000 for it.
didnt pay much more than that to get a really good condition scoob with PPP and uprated brakes.
In my opinion you wil only get that money if you break it.
if you get that much for it then well done

PADDYHOEY, delivery can be arranged but its gonna cost me about a £100 (but I need to confirm). You can have the car for £1000, £150 road tax for £100, plus whatever delivery will cost. Will need deposit upfront. If interested let me know
