Default EJ257 project engine for sale

Due to a change of mind and building a 2lt CDB, i now have these parts for sale;
Ej257 sti block casings - 1200 miles old, light score on one of the bores.
Brand new JE pistons for ej25 - oversized to suit above.
Brand new subaru crankshaft.
Brand new ACL bearings.
Brand new Subaru oil pump.
Set of perfect sti 9 rods.

All components ready for assembly to give a safe 400bhp block.

Would rather sell as job lot for - £1500

I will split if i can get offers on all the parts seperatley, as if it does not sell i will have it built and therefore i do not want to be left having to buy parts again, so if anyone else is interested in any of the other parts please register your interest.

cheers

Registering interest on the block casings, and possibly pistons.

are the pistons forged then? surely this take more than 400bhp tho? being that a standard sti can take more than that? what year car the block from?

Personally i would say the OEM Rods are the limiting factor (the rods are standard rods hence the power limit specified by the OP)....therefore if the rods were upgraded to a forged set i would say this will be fine for 550BHP.....but how long it will last at that power level is all down to your supporting mods, as is any engine.

But i must say that the 2.5 is a completely different motor to a 2.0 and is a power house (torque) and near enough untouchable as a street racer.

The rods are the limiting factor, unlike some other adverts i`m not going to blow the possible bhp out of proportion!

CDB fully forged, got exactly the same. Revs like a motorbike and bullet proof. After having a 2.5 on different scoobs, i think youv'e deffo made the right choice Rob

I`m still unsure tbh, i`m thinking of building this if it does`nt sell and swapping it back in, the torque down low from a 2.5 is fantastic, totally different from a 2l, if only funds allowed a 2.33 is the best compromise!
