hi tom, how old is the ecu? did you buy it from new? who has mapped the ecu previously? can it be seen working on your car? does it come with map sensor and loom?

Hi Dave,

Im not sure how old it is but it was fitted to my friend nicks subaru and has been mapped by Mark who owns Thwaites Developments in Warwick. He has the motec software for mapping and it already has a base map on it i believe.
I have not got it fitted to my car but have seen it working very well on nicks! It is plug and play and I do not have a map sensor.

I was planning on fitting it in the next few months but I have run out of money

is there a loom for the m48? i would be intrested in buying the ecu but i would need to see the item working (not on my car ) before any cash exchanged hands. i take it you can get hold of the software from mark or nick? i would also be intrested into talking to mark at thwaits developments to see what map has been put on it and if he could supply another map sensor and just to check the ecu is cosher. like i say its nothing against you but i have been ripped off in the past like many others.

duncan is down at thwaites tomorrow so hopfully he will get the lowdown on the ecu.

ive been told the m48 is a oldish ecu and it also has some cold starting issues but i guess thats down to the mapper to sort out, if its going to cost the same as a simtec to map and fit then ill go the simtec route

Hey Tom, is it the Gold Version M48 or the OEM one? Also does it have anything open apart from ALS and LC?
