Gutting really but I need a nice cheap car to run whilst I'm on an apprentices wages - gulp, dare I say it a diesel!
Anywho, the time has come to say goodbye to my 205 GTi. She's easily been more fun to drive than any other car I've had, even when she needed new parts or didn't like me.
So, the stats...
1988 phase 1.5 1.9 GTi
149,000 miles (high but below average for the year)
Full CAT 1 Autowatch alarm/immobilser (key fob central locking etc)
Refurbed white Speedline wheels (standard 1.9 jobbies)
Front tyres are Uniroyal Rainsport II's (5mm), rears are Goodyear Eagle F1's (3mm)
Straight through stainless exhaust system (Scorpion backbox) with standard downpipe (not too loud - sounds nice)
Front Spax lowering springs (40mm I think) and rear torsion bar set to match
Alpine speakers throughout to replace standard items
JVC CD/Mp3 player
I've owned her since June 2008 when I sold my Scoob and in this time she's had allsorts replaced like the alternator, various engine hoses, all filters, couple of interior parts, an ovalled wheel hub, track rod ends, wishbones etc. etc. I'm missing loads as she's genuinely been pampered with anything needing replacing being done quick sharp either by me or a reputable garage. Loads of service history to prove this.
She has MOT and Tax until July 2010.
I've regularly serviced her (filters, plugs, leads, oils) every 4-5000 miles for piece of mind. Currently running her on Mobile super S 10w 40 semi synth oil. Always run on V-power whilst in my possession too. Definitely worth mentioning that it's very recently had a full cambelt change with new water pump, pulley etc.
The body work is pretty good with only a slight bit of rust coming though the drivers sill where the B-pillar joins. A couple of blemishes on the body but no laquer peel or missing paint - I've always washed her using the two bucket method and an array of excellent cleaning products from Autoglym, Meguiars, Poorboys etc, etc. Good polishes followed by good waxes as I wanted to keep her looking sweet.
Interior is good, with the usual wear to the drivers bolster. The seats aren't ripped but a little stitching has come away.
The couple of bad bits are as follows...
The rear tyres will need replacing eventually, 3mm tread so not too bad
I think the rear drivers caliper is sticky as it whins a bit but not checked this yet
Tracking maybe needs doing as front drivers wheel is worn towards the inner edge
Anywho, for the niggles above, she's a brilliant runner, I've recently sorted a poor fuel consumption issue out with various senders, plug switches, new thermostat etc. and she runs a dream. No misfires or anything and cold starting is fine once oil pressure builds up (like a lot of these I guess).
She's 22 this year so not perfect, but I'm asking what I think to be a reasonable price of £900 o.n.o. for her, or PX for a diesel, little frugal car.
Loads I've missed, pm me for anything else/questions etc...
So, some pics taken last year after a good wash (she does need cleaning inside and out - will do when I get chance)...

Hoping for another Scoob later this year, but trying to save money until my apprenticeship pays better.

I've been offered a 98 'r' plate 106 1.1 Zest and £475 for my 205 by a member on the 205 forum. Seems an ok deal to me as the car only has 77k and will be MOT'ed too.
