I am selling my STI4 heads as I am going down the route of fitting newage AVCS items.
These have underbucket shims, a MUST for big power. WRX heads have the shims above the buckets and have been known for the cams to throw the shim resulting in damaged heads and cams.
The heads were removed from a low mileage imported car that was broken for spares.
They were sent to Zen Performance where they were stripped, cleaned and inspected.
They were given a very light skim to ensure 100% flat face for perfect gasket bite. They were ported and all casting imperfections removed etc.
They were rebuilt by Zen using:-
new Supertech valve stem seals
new Supertech Inconel exhaust valves (as recomended by Zen for high performance use. From memory these are around £22 each x 8)
the inlet valves were inspected and found to be in perfect condition so were re-used as well as all springs, retainers and collets.
All valve seats were re-faced
The heads were re-built and re-shimmed where necessary to give the perfect clearances.
I will include the genuine Subaru rocker cover gasket sets that were brand new when I fitted them to the car less than a year ago. There were no leaks from these unlike most.
They were run on my car at around 400BHP and Andy F himself commented on how well the car breathed. He believed they were one of the contributing factors to how the car held full boost all the way to the red line!! There was no restriction at the top end at all. I have a RR graph from WP to prove this.
The heads are due me over £1200 including buying them (normally go for around £300 in used / unknown condition)!!
I will include a copy of the reciept from Zen performance to prove the work and parts that went into these heads.
So basically you are getting a set of mint condition recently rebuilt STI4heads with a set of Inconel Exhaust valves.
They are available now as the block is sold so these are sitting in my garage all wrapped in bubble wrap.
Price - £650 Please bare in mind the info above and that they have had a lot of money spent on them!
Thanks
Duncan

Duncan i must say that is a good deal for some top quality heads bud.....would you mind posting some pictures of the porting and the heads themselves? I may be able to refer a friend who is after a set, dependent on his financial situation and how much he has already spent on his car?

Yes its a very good deal. Like I say - the invoice from Zen totals a fair amount and that was actually with a trade discount included. I will not list the discount for obvious reasons, but its all on the Invoice.
To be fair the porting was pretty mild as the target was 400BHP and these heads can flow up to 500BHP as standard. I believe 3-1/2 hours was allocated to clean up and port the heads.
I will try and get some pics up but we moved house on Friday and while I know exactly where the heads are, I have not come accross the digital camera yet. LOL.
The garage is more organised than the house!!

Cheers Chaos, still here for now mate ![Smile](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/smile.gif)
Andy - My next step is going to include a 500+BHP turbo on a built 2.1 so I want to reduce lag as much as possible. My parts supplier, mapper and engine builder all told me that the AVCS heads will help to do this and seeing as I intend to use the Solaris / Syvecs ECU anyway I have a way to control the AVCS. SO thought I might as well.![Smile](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/smile.gif)
Never done it before so why not.
Also looks like I have managed to pick up a 3-door shell so the car is changing completely now
