E46 M3 Coupe, Tit Silver, fully loaded.
I've only just bought this, and having a mad moment and considering keeping my scoob despite the M3 being a truly fantastic car in every respect both in terms of its drive, performance, build and quality of example.
Haven't advertised it, but thought I would throw it out there in case there is any interest which might help in my deliberation process.
Its a 2001 E46 M3 coupe, Manual, in Tit Silver and fully loaded with SatNav, Harmon, heated seats, rear blind, sunroof, Rear Park Sensors, CD multi changer, new M3 mats, etc, etc. Its covered 79K miles with FBWSH with next service in 8K miles. Black leather interior in showroom condition, and exterior is also truly sturnning with hardly even any stone chips. Unmarked 19" CSL/copy alloys with good tyres. Private M3 registration plate.
HPI Clear, and free from finance.
Examples of this nature with all the right bits IMO don't come along that often and this is not your usual tired example. This is better than 2005 examples I have seen.
Looking for 11.5K for it.. Like I say very much in 2 minds about selling it, but if someone was out there that happened to be considering a M3 then I would sell.

Thanks it really is that clean. I'm fairly sure its all original paint as well. It did have lots of the nasty plastic stone guard stuff fitted from new that was not looking at its best, that was then removed leaving a virtually spotless car and paint underneath.

Looking for a quick sale on this so now on pistonheads for £10,995 ovno.
If anyone is in the market for one, trust me when I say they don't come any better or cheaper than this. This is the bottom end of the market in terms of money, but top end in terms of condition and specification.

Great thing is I'm open minded about selling and the longer I own the car the more I like it, and keep finding mroe extra like the folding mirrors.. If it Don't sell I will go back to my original plan of selling my classic scooby wagon 360bhp.

Truly fantastic car and a very difficult package to beat. I've have had lots of scoobs and jap cars over the years in various states of tune. The M3 is up there with the quickest scoobs including 2.5 20g classic. But the best thing about the M3 is the build quality, and instant power at any revs from 1K to 8K. No waiting for turbo's to kick in, its just goes and goes and goes into licence loosing silly speeds. And pushed hard in the twisites it will deliver just as well in the corners, it just takes a bit more exerience unlike and evo or scoob that is much easier to drive quickly.
I'm likely to get flamed but the M3 is in a different league to scoobs. But the M3 owes me allot more than my scoob and I like being able to tinker and fiddle about on cars which you can't do on the M3. If the M3 sold, it would free up some cash to spend on other things around the house, and i would just keep my cheap scoob to play with as the 2nd car in the house.
But I don't really need to sell for the cash, so will just see how things go with it. But to answer you questoin very simply they are great cars and and every petrol head should at least try one.

I have to say that e46's are an awesome car and they easily kept up with our 2.5 at donny if we'd have had a sensible offer for our car its what wed have replaced it with. 79k onthat engine is nothing either as there bullet proof. loks a nice example good luck mate.

Good good. Have you had a chance to drive an SMG one? Two minds whether to stick with manual or go flappy paddle. Never been an auto fan but that can be avoided driving with 'S' mode and paddle change only. Only negative i've heard about SMG II is it not adjusting properly for clutch wear. Brakes up to the job? There's a boy selling one local with AP's front and rear, race cats and exhaust/remap, KW's and csl wheels. Nice but think it might be an unnecessary expense for a car thats already well sorted out of the factory.
Your's looks absolutely mint and is quite low mileage for its age. Sure it'll go no bother. Just coming into the right time of year for selling.

Unless your into track days in a big way, the standard suspension and breaks are more than up to the job IMO. I have breaked from big speeds down to a stop and its does it very well and efficiently without fuss, but not so sure if it would take prelonged heavy breaking. It would outbreak a classic with 2 pots or 4 pots. Personally the only modification I would consider is a supercharger that I believe can be fitted for 5K all up, giving 480bhp. Now thats allot of gain for relatively little outlay. But the M3 is such a sorted package as standard It should really be left alone IMO. Modding is not what the M3 is about...

Agree on modding them. From what i can gather its a fairly well sorted package as it is. ESS is bloody impressive though. Watched quite a few videos on youtube of them. Not quite as impressive as the v10 E30 though! watch it!
Good luck with the sale Rob, if you want to part with it. Personally, for a day to day car, i'd keep it and sell the scoob.

Regarding clutch wear you mentioned , if you drive at over 40 mph , put it in neutral and pull both paddles towards you it resets the clutch , had to do it on mine a couple of times when it gets jerky pulling away from junctions ect.
I'm thinking of selling mine at the moment as I'm fancying either an RS4 or a new shape M3 , new shape M3 is favourate at the mo , the E46 M3 is a great car

You would have thought so, but not proving that easy to sell. Seems the market is dead. Only people looking to buy motors are dealers, or people that don't appreciate its a good price for a good car in the first place. I often feel I should over inflate the price just to give someone the satisfaction of thinking they have knocked off a few K of the price....

SMG is like marmite lol , you love or hate it , I think it's the best part of the car , the only thing I found weird to start with is that it was a bit slow changing down when driving fast , like coming into roundabouts , but you just have to act a split second faster to allow for it , but in all other area's it's brilliant.
I have never used it in full automatic mode , as in manual it drives exactly like a manual car , but the clutch and gearchange are done for you , they still have the same clutch as a manual car , you get no freewheeling like an auto would , they do change down gears if your slowing down say to second gear speeds , but wont change up itself until you move the paddle or the gearstick , and at full speed it will change gear faster than a stick would , it does feel a bit brutal with full throttle gear changes though lol.
I wish I could put SMG onto my rally car .
Cheers Ian

Up again, 1 day to run on ebay auction and still questioning my sanity in selling this. So I have bumped my Subaru in the for sale section which I was going to keep, but which ever one sells first for sensible money the other one I will end up keeping.
Both cracking cars, but both very different on every level. Would love to keep both but can't justify it.
