if im not mistaken the light on themright hand side is prefacelift ???

Think you are mistaken mate they were removed from a 1998 uk turbo( mine) which has facelift front end, ie grill, bonnet wings etc mate so the lights if they were pre facelift would not fit right mate.

How did you fit your grill on with odd lights?

God knows mate bit it sat perfect which is why I can't figure out why one is and one isn't facelift, they are almost identical apart from one has a motor and a cover over the bulb, the shape if them is exactly the same

the facelift one has a flatter edge to the end of the light when it starts bending where as the other one just bends without any flat edge on it.
