Default Impreza P1, WR model, 0753/1000

Advertising this for my mate. Really nice car, drives very well and it's got some really nice bits on it.

He's looking for a px or swap for newage Impreza.

74k
10 months Tax + MOT
Main dealer history ( documented to 49.000miles)
Daily drive

car comes with the expensive WR upgrade options - Electric Recaro/Prodrive seats, 18 inch Prodrive wheels (immaculate) and Big Brake upgrade.

Hayward & Scott exhaust system
NRG Coilovers
Whiteline drop link+anti lift kit
Front Mount Intercooler
HKS Filter
VF35 Turbo
HKS Dump valve
New Turbo inlet pipe (Silicone fitted 30.03.2010)
New Yoko Pradas all round
Blitz Turbo Timer
Defi Gauges ( Oil temp,Turbo,Oil pressure)
Parrot phone system
Aircon removed
Morrette headlight conversion
Brand new MAF ( fitted 30.03.2010)

It is a very clean car, drives excellent but could do with some TLC on the front bumper.
It has suffered from the dreaded stone chip disease, and also a small split on the lower section.
Bumper has had to be reshaped in order to allow fitment of the FMIC.
Also has the very common scratches on both driver and passenger windows_ very common on classics due to a defect in the window runners inside the doors.
Also recently had a 4 wheel Laser allignment, essential on Subaru's at least once a year.

HPI Clear.
Any inspection welcome.

Reason for sale - I need a slightly more practical car for my new family.
More than happy to accept a straight swap for a Subaru Wagon, or see below in my part exchange wishlist.

It is indeed a very nice car, previous owner must have spent a small fortune in the suspension and handling department. It drives superbly and I must admit I was very (pleasantly) suprised how great the car feels on the road, not harsh in any way.

I think it's a really great price too, especially when you consider it has the WR package but then even more so when you think of all the extras! Lets face it, even if a standard P1 is more your thing the sale and return to standard of the extras would net you a few quid and make the car even cheaper as a end result.

It's worth noting that I've done 2 oil services on this car recently and I regularly check the car over, I also fitted the silicone inlet pipe and a new MAF the other week. And it's recently had a new 3 layer HKS filter element.

I met the Steven (seller) and James at a services on the M1.
I drove like miss daisy as there was only 1/4 of a tank of fuel in it, plus I was driving trough that horrible 30 mile long 50mph zone so I never got above 80 in total.

This is my 3rd Scooby so Im awair of the driving while its cold etc, saying that it was hot when I drove it off.

Im absolutly fuming! Although Steven did promise that he would not back out and help out with it which is great but Im thinking it may have been lip service as he has gone quiet since then.

It was recovered from my house on wednesday and by the end of the month Il be £2800 lighter!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The other person you met was not me, it was another friend of Steve.

I was asked to link the advert on scoobynet by Steve, this I did.

It's a crap situation (been here myself when I bought a v5 type r and engine expired) The only consolation I can offer is the car had no signs of this, engine was quiet hot or cold and oil pressure was good (defis) This does happen on these cars, and unfortunately the only way we could get round this is buy brand new cars and sell them after 3 yearsbefore the warranty runs out.

The way I'd look at it is there's a lot dearer p1's out there and keep your eyes peeled on here and 22b and you will be able to pick up a lump with a newage bottom end for reasonable money. I found a 2.5 with p1 heads for £1500 with low miles on it and fitted that to my type r.

Sorry James, last thing I want to do is give you a bad rep. My bad.

I bet Steven is laughing, as he is the luckyest bugger in the world. missing a rebuild by 40 miles!

just curious as if he had picked the car up agreed the sale, done the deal then jumped on the motorway and decided to see what it could do got caught in a moment with a m3 or similar and kept it a 120mph+ for the 40 miles then no i would not be surprised it went pop. was just trying to get the full story before people assumed james had done a naughty on him.

it also has become clear that james had nothing to do with the deal a lot of people jump on here bad mouth someone then all hell breaks loose as the other party is not given the chance to explain and it ends in 40 pages of someone being slated for the wrong reason and imo how the car was being driven at the time is important.

bad luck to the new owner and best of luck getting it sorted although i doubt you will get any where with it all other than ending up paying for it all.

shame but i guess it does happen just very very bad and expensive luck.

Shaddow - did you realize that P1's can go pop at any time & regularly do or is this all a surprise to you? Loads of info on here about P1's & Ver V STi's "troubles". I'd only buy one recently rebuilt or a standard one on the basis that there is funds available for a rebuild ...

40 miles in your new chariot then pop is really unfortunate. The only plus point is that you have a fantastic canvas to work on now, (I know its more outlay but) spend some decent cash on a decent engine and you will end up with a monster.
I gaurantee youll never look back and laugh at this though.

I know I wont look back as the 40 miles was a lovely 40 miles ha ha.
However I bought it as it had a rebuild 10k ago! obviously not a good one.
I have gone for a good strong spec with the rebuild only using brand new parts and not having the crank ground which a lot of people do. Iv gone for a V9 crank, more money but worth it in the long run.

Its not a version 9 crank, its a JDM nitrided, drilled, twin scroll crank but yes, its the best one you can buy as these differ from all the other market cranks as they have better oil feed to the bearings and they are not that expensive
