2004/04 Impreza STi Spec C
## SOLD SOLD SOLD ##
Unfortunately the time has come to sell my Spec C because I am hoping to buy a house with my girlfriend during the summer and need to start driving something ‘more sensible’, ie. a car that returns 40+ MPG’s (did I really write that, I think she’s brain washed me ).
It’s a 2004/04 Impreza STi Spec C, in blue, with white Prodrive PFF7 wheels. It has 39,000 miles on the clock and has had two owners, including me, since being imported by Performance Centre Manchester.
The engine is pretty much standard, other than a performance panel filter and a remap by Bob Rawle. The car has not been on a rolling road but Bob said that from his experience and using on-the-road sprints to calculate BHP when he mapped it, he has advised that it is running 340bhp and 340+ lb/ft torque.
It has had some nice internal and external modifications, like Defi gauges, Genome back box, AP Racing front brakes, as well as a double-DIN DVD/iPod system (that can also do SATNAV with the correct modules), an STi 8 interior and genuine STI front splitter and side-spats.
It has two issues with it, one is a worn Perrin rear drop link that I am replacing (I'll obviously replace the pair) as soon as I’ve sourced the correct part, eg. OE or whiteline, etc.
The car also has a ‘clunk’ in the rear differential that I have had looked at on a number of occasions by two separate specialists, one of which is Powerstation, who have advised that it is caused by ‘back-lash’, or play in the rear diff unit. I am currently obtaining a quote from a specialist repair company to determine the best and worse case cost of a rebuild. I am happy to either pay for the repair prior to sale, or I can reflect the cost of the repair in the sale price.
Please note that it does not affect the driveability of the car, it just makes an audible ‘clunk’ sometimes when applying/removing power through the transmission in low gears, at low speed.
Asking price is £10,995 (excluding the issue with the rear diff)
Engine
Bob Rawle remap - estimated 340/340
EJ20 engine semi-closed deck
STi Genome exhaust back box
Green panel filter
ZeroSports Cool Action intercooler splitter
Auto/manual intercooler spray
6 speed gearbox with DCCD
Handling/Brakes
Apex Gen2 coilovers
Perrin rear anti-roll Bar
Perrin rear drop links (need replacing)
AP Racing 6 pot front brakes with 335mm discs
Ferrodo DS2500 brake pads
Goodridge braided hoses
Vredstein Ultrac Sessanta tyres rear / Bridgestone Potenza RE050’s front
Exterior
Prodrive PFF7 wheels, powder coated white
Rays lightweight extended wheel nuts (blue)
Tinted back three windows
Genuine STi front splitter
Genuine STi side-spats
Tein bonnet lifters
Interior
STI V8 interior
Flocked triple gauge pod
3x Defi Gauges: Turbo Boost, Oil Pressure, Oil Temp
1x STi Genome Gauge: Turbo Boost
Kenwood Double Din DVD player with i-pod hook up and remote control
Alpine speakers in the front doors / Pioneer 6x9s on rear shelf
Complete, real carbon fibre dash/centre console kit
Prodrive black alloy gear ****
Genuine STI mats
Other
Car is fully de-tangoed as per factory spec
Cat 1 Cobra Alarm and Immobiliser
Tracker (not currently in service)
Good service history
Bad points
As stated, the car has an issue with ‘back-lash’ in the rear differential, which may require a rebuild. I am obtaining a quote from a specialist and will either have it repaired prior to sale or can negotiate on the sale price.
Worn rear drop link (I am having this replaced within the next week, once I have sourced the correct part).
Very small dent in the rear-left wing from petrol pump filler knocking against it. Easily sorted by mobile dent repairer.
The wheels could do with a refurb as the salt on the road earlier this year, along with brake dust, has got into the powder coating and discoloured the front wheels.
Thanks for looking.
Rich.

Isn't the clunk just cos you've hit the diff lock button
Up for a fellow (I'm an ex) Spec C owner £11k seems pretty good value for an 04 Spec C.
TX.
Edit - just looked at pics ... that is one clean car

JESUS..... that is a great price for the specification imo!!!!!
I can't see this staying around for long!
If you have not already, I would put it on Pistonheads..... it should sell really quickly at this price.
