recently changing my turbo cos i thought it was on its last legs i come to the conclusion that 3-4 hrs work that saturday afternoon was a waste of time but at least i got the experience of changing one
after changing the noise was still there, 4 you guys that read my previous post....
so ive come to the conclusion its the gear box, cos when im driving along, there is a little play in the gear stick, and if i push on the stick the noise comes louder
p.s. can any1 tell me why my o/s fog light wont come on
ive tried the 3 relays under the driver column on the post but no joy, i know that these are the correct ones
but still it does not come on
ill try stripping down and seeing if its a loom problem
thxs
oh yeah, the turbo i have for sale any offers ???
its the full piece not just the turbo itself, inc actuator.

Nutter,
depends what year your car is (ie MY98) and if its uk or not.
You may find that you need a remapped ecu if you go for a bigger turbo too, suppose its an excuse to get something like a link or the likes but you should notice the difference in performance

Agree require remap. I recently put on zorst and dawes before going for a unichip but this td05 has popped up so might do this as well before chipping. Car is early Legacy import so only early WRX bits suit which is why need to poke around and do little research first.

Sorry took so long to reply - got too busy at work. Tempting thought it is I think I have to kerb my spending on the car a little this month. If it's still around when I've more dosh then I'll go for it.

You had also better check what Turbo you currently have. If you have a 97MY UK/WRX (not STi as they use VF series) or later the chances are that you have a TD04. To the best of my knowledge, a TD05 will not fit as it is a different configuration having a 90deg elbow on the compressor outlet.
I could be wrong though.....?
