It's difficult to know how up-to-date these sites are on pricing. £17k odd as a trade price would be about what I was expecting, although as always it depends on demand. I would hope the mileage and plate make a difference.

I'll try to get some photos to post here soon. Watch this space.

There up to data enough that it is what the dealers will use when assesing your trading. Selling private you may get more if it is mint and you have an enthusiastic buyer.

I have an RB5 WR sport with 22k on the clock and was chatting with my local dealer on Saturday. He said to me that it wouldn't be unheard of to see the car in a main dealer for £19995. They book at about £1700 more than a normal RB5.
How many do you reckon they made (WR sports) and how many left.
I've been told about 160 genuine ones released and about 120 left.
Obviously someone could fit the extras after they bought it but its the lack of WR Sport on the dash that would give it away.

Cheers Jay

Don't tell me that you car has only done 16K lol, my mate ( Babber) allready takes the P155 out of me cause I never drive the thing. I turn up in my cavalier and he thinks its hilarious.
156 thats well less than half of the 444 then. My dealer said about half were WR sports just a guess on his behalf then. Where do you find this information ???

There have been a few posts in the past stating 156, I'm going on this, so I'm not sure how factual it is. 16,000 miles and I have yet to use the car for transport from A to B, usually its A (the garage) to B (the petrol station) a 50-100 mile cruise on the B roads and then back to A, then into the second car to the shops !!!!!!!! No dings, no marks just garage dust.

I've been offered £14.5k cash at local dealer, but it doesn't seem enough to me. I think that I will extend the warranty and advertise privately soon.

Sorry to be picky on a selling thread, but an RB5 could be made into a WR Sport version after you had taken delivery. Quedegely might of converted 160 odd before the owner took delivery, but that MIGHT not take into account the cars that got delivered to dealers without the WR package. Please remember that ALL RB5 were first registered as std car. Only after the car was put in the owners name, and they had insured it, could it be put in the que at Quedegeley for conversion.

I ran my RB5 as std before converting it. Still remember the day well . Got a certificate to say it was now a WR Sport. I am not sure that the cars got a WR plaque as they were not full WR cars in the true sense of the word, as the interiors and suspension were std. Only cars with the full set of mods were entitled to this. The car that might have it will be because the owner got hold of one my means fair or foul.

IMHO if the car does not have a WR plaque it does not disqualify it from being a RB5 WR Sport car.

I stand however to be corrected.

Jonathan

Hi RB27

Drop me an e-mail/line when you are ready to sell - I would be interested.

I notice you are an Engineer from Coventry - don't suppose you work at Jaguar ??

Chins. Did yours have WR Sport on the rev counter ?
I know some of the early ones were converted after owner had delivery but did they still get the WR Sport on the dash ?
Did yours come with the Prodrive wing or when the PPP was added was it put on then ?

Cheers Jay.

PS Have asked Phill these questions but he hasn't a clue lol

Unhappy

Why the big fuss about whether it's an RB5 WR Sport or not??

If someone had a std RB5, then happily paid IM for the PPP and Rear Wing, then why shouldn't they state it's a WR Sport??

There is no mechanical difference between the two; only the WR Sport badged rev counter tells them apart.

I hope no-one expects to sell their car for more simply because it came out of the Dealers with everything already fitted and wasn't fitted 6mths later.

Honestly, I don't understand some people on here, talk about Subaru snobs

LOL at Mr.ozzy. The original WR sport books at £1700 pounds ish more. An RB5 with the PPP and rear spoiler would probably fetch the same sort of money except at the dealers because they probably wouldn't see it that way.
Thats like saying if you buy a standard WRX in WR Blue and put the bits on it you can sell it as a UK 300.
Anyway I dont care mine's a WR Sport anyway. The dash says so

Jay.

Jay,

You may have WR sport on your rev counter but it doesn't light up when you have the lights on Maybe it's a fake, lol

Anyway, My MY00 will keep up with it, so is it really worth the extra £1700. Scooby Snobs, lol I've got to agree with that We love Dawes

Talking

LOL sideways. Snobby git

Since the RB5 was the ONLY UK car to be sold in Steel Blue, it's not quite the same comparison. Likewise, the UK300 came in standard form and with the option of a PPP, so I think UK300 owners might agree at being told their car was less valueable if they added the PPP later.

Everyone with a blue WRX has it looking like a UK300 anyway

Stefan (a very proud owner of a std RB5, now with a PPP upgrade )

Wink

LOL This poor guy only wanted to sell his car and the thread has become somewhat hijacked.
Mr.Ozzy I see where your coming from now I now understand your annoyance.
Well I agree with you if the mods are added its a WR Sport. Why not ?
However ask you local " friendly " dealer and I bet they won't.

These are for a standard car ( like yours stefan )
New A1 Good Fair Trade
1999/T £24995 £20170 £19115 £13610 £16810

and these are for a WR Sport ( like mine )

1999/T £27545 £21600 £20460 £14580 £18000

Now I hope thats cleared up that little mystery.

Cheers Jay ( Proud GENUINE RB5 WR Sport owner.

For what it's worth I bought a WR RB5 from a dealer with 24K on the clock and full history and immaculate for £18.5K in January.

I've just extended the warranty for another year, and it's in for the 3yr service and first MOT in two weeks time. After that I will probably be advertising it.

Can anyone help on pasting a photo onto this page?

Thanks

Haven't advertised it yet.

Just added extra one years Subaru warranty, and it's going in next week for 3yr service and cambelt change.

Plan to sell for circa £16,500 in next few weeks if anyone out there is interested.

24,000 miles FSH, original WR Sport with certificate.
Limited edition No.27 with private plate T27 RBS included.
